China not Invited for Defexpo 2012

Technically, we are to blame for the double-edged problem we're facing now. If Indira had not screwed it up in 70s, we'd have only the Reds to deal with now.

If it was not for Nehru, there would have been no Red threat and no Kashmir issue.

Is the organization that arranges these exhibitions private or state sponsored?
State sponsored..

DEO was created as a nodal agency in 1981 as part of the Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence to
promote and export potential of Defence Public Sector Undertakings, DRDO and the Ordnance Factory Board. Over the
years, it has immensely contributed towards export promotion activities on behalf of Ministry of Defence. It is
the nodal and co-ordination agency for the conduct of two major expositions in India, viz; Aero India and Defexpo
India, which have seen exponential growth over the years. DEO also co-ordinates the participation of Indian
Defence industries in exhibitions abroad.

New Delhi: Chinese companies are not being invited for the Defence Ministry's biennial military exhibition 'Defexpo' here next month but there will be an official delegation from that country for the event.

The External Affairs Ministry has shot down a Defence Ministry proposal to invite Chinese companies to take part in the four-day show that will have representation from several countries including the US, Israel, Russia and France, sources told PTI on Tuesday.

A proposal to allow Chinese armament companies to take part in the exhibition was made after it was considered for two weeks, they said.

Companies from Taiwan will also not be allowed to take part in the exhibition, the sources added.

Defexpo India 2012 is the seventh edition of the biennial land, naval and internal security systems Exhibition and will be held at Pragati Maidan here from March 29 to April 1.

During the Aero India last year, China did not figure in the list of countries when the names of participants were released by the Defence Ministry.

But later the Government cleared the proposal to invite a Chinese delegation for its participation in the air show in Bangalore.

India and China have taken several steps to improve their bilateral relations and had also held the Special Representative-level talks to resolve their long-pending boundary issue.

Poor and immature move on MEA's part. Invite them, this is an expo trying to sell to Indian military and because of their expecting ally high standards they are unlikely to be interested in any Chinese equipment but atleast you'd be able to take the moral high ground, this is too playground for my liking.

I don't think they're too upset about it since we don't have any weapons cooperation with China as of yet (which is doubtful in the future if this is the stance that CCP maintains).

Too bad; If only CCP had chosen us instead of Pakistanis as friends and strategic partners, we'd have been their biggest defense partners and we'd have become the two powerful engines of Asia.

self contemplation ...LMAO keep the pity for yourself, we chinese don't need India since 1959, we have enough of friends to cozy with.

If the Indian standards are so high, then why all the Indian airplanes are going down faster than Thai hookers?

India-China won't have cooperation on weapons until the disputes are solved and even then it would also have to solve with Pakistan.

You mean the Migs ? anyway don't start flaming.

First have to agree not upset, second it's not the CPC rather no attention to India is shown, the Current Indian Government hasn't really shown that it wants this kind of level of cooperation, now someone like modi probably can.
