China mocks India's democratic system

.
At least care to elaborate...
It is tiring to repeat the same thing over and over. But, since you seem to be genuine, I'll try again.

First of all, the "everyone has a say" is one of the most misleading cliche used by democracy radicals. It is never true. It is only "those with money and connections have a say".

Secondly, if by "everyone has a say" you mean everyone can vote, then 1/1,100,000,000 is as good as zero. Indians invented the concept of zero, you should have no problem understanding the significance of that number. Do you really believe that you "Koovie" personally can change anything your government is doing? Think zero then you get the right answer.

Thirdly, everyone is not a politician. In the modern world, for a country as vast and complex as India, one man one vote is precisely what you do NOT want. You need real capable leaders, not actors or talkers. Finding such leaders is extremely difficult. And it's made even harder by the Bollywood style elections that allow every layman to participate. That's why in 60+ years of independence India has never found a truly great politician who has the extra-ordinary (but required) vision and courage to lead your country (Modi remains to be seen).

Finally, and this is the real kicker. The concept of "everyone has a say" creates an elusion that things are fair, and you are "free". This is very detrimental to your improvement. The voters may not like their incompetent leaders but they are okay with the process because they feel the system is "fair". The elected leaders always feel they are entitled because they represent "the people". So if things don't work, everyone just blame the leaders and fancy electing another group of leaders in the next election. No one will think of fixing the "system". It's like drug, when it's time you have to take it.

Well obviously a single vote does not mean much on paper. But should that make me abstain from voting? Where would we stand today if everyone was thinking like that...

People with same opinions group up and form parties or similar groups to express their views. Thanks to innovations like printing or the internet a single person has the possibility to let thousands or even millions hear his/her opinion of a matter.
The possibilities are growing exponentially and they are very powerful tools indeed.

Its exactly what we want and what our founding fathers wanted. You are right, India is vast and complex like no other nation. And thats exactly the reason why we opted for a parliamentary democracy....any other form of government would not be capable of bringing the insane amount of different cultures, languages etc together.

Finally, and this is the real kicker. The concept of "everyone has a say" creates an elusion that things are fair, and you are "free". This is very detrimental to your improvement. 1.) How exactly is it an elusion that things are fair and we are free?
2.) Why should we try to "fix" the system if it works as intended? What you just described is exactly what we want: If the people are unsatisfied with their government, they elect another one which in turn has to satisfy the needs of the people in order to stay in power. It may not be perfect, but no system is... nor will we end up being stuck with an oppressive regime that takes legitimacy itself rather than the people.

Democracy is a hinder to india economy. People bicker and argue over development rather than start development. The amount of red tape even making a decision more painful.

The British is smart to plant this disease on india before they left. It will slow india growth and until now after more than 60years. India still cant out size Britain economy even now.

.
India is not democratic in any way. It is controlled by the elite for the elite.

Thats why 800 million people are left to rot in their own faeces.

Looks like insecurity of China will never change. After all the mainland real Chinese people were ruled by midget nations , small traders etc for only god knows how long they were been slaved . So now with lots of money and with bullying small nations or even playing as a big brother for failed states China trying to reassure it's people that those days are long gone. But as people use to say . " You can't straighten a dog's tail"

Insecure Chinese establishment know :

-it's people want to have more Accountability ,
- freedom to live a life of their choice,

- More justice to a common man
More over accountability in Military Spending .

Now this is the problem . There are lots of dirt under Communist Party . With democracy and human rights China will be shattered in to many different countries. So China compares with 2014 GDP of India . Which really under performed but what CPC will say in 2015-2016 when Chinese GDP will be reduced to 6%_7% when Indian GDP to exceeds 7.5% as per the IMF itself . Many have predicted a sustainable growth of 8-10 % for the next few decades for India . As new investment are pouring in after the new government took over in the mid 2014 . India already surpassed China in Service Industry . With new push for make in India Chinese will be just another country residing next to the Fastest growing economy , peaceful and prosperous world's largest independent democracy . Power of democracy is more powerful than dictatorship .

Same old Tortoise and Rabbit Race .

Conclusion : Slow and steady democracy of India is much heavenly than Fast and Steroids boosted Bubble Economy with No FREEDOM or democracy . Basic Human instinct is to be free . So one day or other this create armed revolution in China if GDP keeps sinking.

Regarding accountability, how do you define it?

Being we are both developing nations, we face, or faced some of the same problems, like electricity availability, free running water, transportation systems, cleanliness, pollution, social security, corruption, progressive laws and more.

If we are to look at accountability in terms of how these are tackled.

India is not actively pursuing a stronger environmental agency and rule of law in this area, while China is shutting down factories, combining state owned companies to reduce redundancies, planting trees and grass to combat sand storms, and more enforcement power to the environmental agencies while also actively taking suggestions and talking about the problem, as well as signing deals with the world to reduce pollution.

In terms of cleanliness, massive hirings of street cleaners, building more modern restrooms and placing more garbage cans.

in terms of social security, we are spending more and more on health care, currently 95% have access to a plan and there are monthly visits to remote areas by the PLA medical teams to provide medical care.

In terms of rule of law, now courts answer to the next level up instead of direct party apparatus, gay rights, women's rights, and other rights have been implemented. One child policy is relaxed and will soon become a three child policy. Reducing red tape, experimental Free trade zones for less red tape and less restrictions.

In terms of needs for a modern life, electricity generation and per capita as well as running water are being provided at a astonishing rate and reaching deep into the poor central China regions.

In terms of transportation...Enough said.

In terms of corruption, I'm not saying India is worse, but would you be willing to bet your life India's corruption problems are being handled in a way that's making a dent? Chinese corruption drive has been hailed as successful, though much much work is still needed. To date, hundreds of thousands of party officials are either warned, jailed, or executed. With better rule of law, more transparency being implemented as we speak.

So once again, accountability. What do you mean exactly. What actions would be defined as accountable to you?

Why compare China and India to hare and tortoise race. You are assuming that China would be resting for India to catch up... This is not a good analogy as this does no reflet the reality. I heard many Indians use this analogy and this anology is just self delusion. You need to consider how your competitor will advance instead of assuming that he will waiting around for you to catch up.

.
Another genius we have here.

China's GDP is so much larger than India's that even if they grow at 5% and India at 7%, China is still adding more in GDP per year than India. Growth rates mean nothing.

Growth means everything....given that India and China have similar population sizes. A 2% more growth is enough for India to catch up with China

That depends on two percent of which number. There is a big dif between 2 to 4 percent than 10 to 8 percent.

Dear Luca...you seem to forget that size of India and China were similar in 1990...The size widened in last 2 decades.

According to economic survey...India is going to grow by 8.5% next year.
