Yes bro, Hong Kong is going well!

In fact Hong Kong FDI to China Mainland recorded US$ 92.67 billion last year, representing 73.4% of all FDI Inbound, so let's keep up the good work!

Is round tripping still a big phenomenon now between China and HK like it was in the late 90s and 2000s?

Two points:

1. Adding Hong Kong is misleading given that Hong Kong is part of China.
2. What are capital outflows? Given China's recent problems, there is serious amount of capital flight.

Where are our so called "Ummah Brothers" in that list ???

Only education will free Pakistan from Ummah lovers, Problem at hand requires good leaders, which we have none. If democracy is given the chance to grow, in another five to ten years, you will see educated people move into Politics and
"Maula Jatt te Noori Natt" go back to cleaning side walks where they belong.

Despite being one of the principal foreign investors in Pakistan historically, the United States is now pulling out its investments on a massive scale.

Much of the US investment was in services sector or non essential market like fast foods and fashion apparel...we need to push US investment into manufacturing and TOT.

Push US investment into this and that?

You are the recipient, you can't push the source around like their money comes in wheelbarrows.

You have to do the hard legwork in improving the investment climate for manufacturing and TOT....not to mention the supply of skilled labour. Then the investment will naturally come from everyone and not just one strategic partner who prefers MOUs to hedge at your expense.

Disappointed, PARCO, Warid, PTCL, big headaches, low ROI's, bad governance, bad legal system. Serious deterrent.

Sorry, but nobody likes to pour money down a well.

Rather the fault of Arabs themselves as I have often been perplexed they bought this dying institutes for a lot more money than they are worth...just recently Saudi company purchased the Pakistani transmission network company for whopping 600Million..this is a disaster....

There are numerous business in the same line with other investors which are doing perfectly fine...

So what is modi jee doing in India???

So what is modi jee doing in India???

Reducing red tape, reforming tax codes, increasing supply of skilled labour..and using meritocratic appointments to displace entrenched nepotism.

All this had lead to a doubling of FDI to nearly 60 billion USD in 2016....and much of it greenfield FDI into manufacturing.

You don't "push" investment when you are the recipient, you attract it by improving the situation on the ground....the investors have to be convinced they are going to get a good ROI long term.
