The hotel managers would call the police simply because they saw a Turkish passport or they didn't let him into hotels for those reasons as well. Another police just randomly stalked him and asked for a passport. Until then I didn't realize how severe the situation was in that area. You don't lock up millions of people in the name fighting radicalism. I'm well aware that some Uyghurs are radicalized they even committed several terror acts in Turkey too but that doesn't give you the right to oppress the whole ethnicity.
