China Is Using Military Radar Technology That Can Find & Kill A Single Mosquito From 2 Km Away
Updated: March 31, 2018
It's safe to assume that none of us actually love mosquitoes. In fact, pretty much all of us hate those flying critters from the bottom of our collective hearts!
But we still aren't sure whether to celebrate or be filled with dread of new Chinese radar technology that can find and kill even a single mosquito.

It's no joke. Believe it or not, but China is actually developing a super-sensitive radar technology not to intercept enemy fighter jets or incoming missiles, but to detect the wing-flap of a single mosquito from up to 2 kilometres away, according to a senior scientist involved in the government research project.
According to Chinese news outlet, a prototype of the radar used to detect mosquitoes is currently being tested at a defence laboratory at the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT). Obviously the aim of the project isn't limited to intercepting or killing off mosquitoes only.
"Identifying and tracking individual, mosquito-sized targets is no longer science fiction," a senior researcher working on the project was quoted as saying by the South China Morning Post. "We are actually quite close to bringing this technology out of the laboratory and using it to save lives."
If the radar technology actually works, it can actually help millions of people from dying due to mosquito-related diseases like malaria, zika virus and other major ailments.
