Donald Trump rages on China and Iraq oil

Donald Trump on Monday lit into Washington for allowing China to access oil in the Middle East while the U.S. gets “nothing” after the war in Iraq.

While discussing on “Fox & Friends” how deadlock in Washington is a “a real mess for the country,” Trump brought up a Sunday New York Times story reporting that China is the biggest beneficiary of the Iraq oil boom and he called it “a scandal that is unbelievable.”

“I’m not knocking China; I’m knocking our leadership. How can they allow this to happen? We spend $1.5 trillion, we lose thousands of lives, we destroy a country … but China is in there taking out all the oil, and we’re getting nothing,” Trump said.

And as China takes advantage, Trump said, the U.S. continues to pay for security for the region.

“I think it’s very nice of us, we have our Fifth Fleet over there making sure the waters are nice and calm,” Trump said. “I’ve said it a thousand times … we shouldn’t have been there, but if we’re there, take the oil. Take the oil. At least pay back, at a minimum, pay back — take the oil. Well guess what? China is taking the oil, but they didn’t have to fight.”

I'm glad that Trump broke the facade. They weren't really there to spread democracy, or prevent the proliferation of WMDs, but to loot the country. But that sheer entitlement mentality still pisses me off. After burning the country to the ground, Trump still believes they deserve to be payed for their efforts in oil!

Put this into perspective with this fact, more than 1000 people have been killed in Iraq this month (May). The simple question that plagues my mind, is what on earth was America doing all this time. What was all the deaths, the casualties, the military spending for. I thought at the very least, as was common to assume, you would get the oil. Now it just looks like a colossal waste with countries who never sent a single soldier getting oil. If I were a relative of someone who died or was permanently injured in Iraq, I would be very upset.

Not that it was done for oil....but you would have expected some economic windfall.

You live in India, I seen documentaries that says Indian government is persecuting people left right and in the rear, is it true? Maybe to some extent, but I very much doubt it's to the extent of what they claim.

It's probably a misunderstanding with faults in both sides, maybe more in the people's side since they are probably the ones stubborn and not wanting to change with the times.

From your own experience, you should see that it's never as bad as people claim. I mean there are still 5 million+ tibetans in China, and a lot of them are in high office, be it the Federal or provincial and below. There are Tibetan businessmen and Women and film stars as well as in all fields.

As to the peaceful life, are you claiming better living standard in Nepal or India than China? Not saying India is bad, but relative to China it is still a ways to go. As to peace, maybe Nepal is not the place to go.

Look at Nepal to see where Tibet would be in a non China situation. You think there wouldn't be a civil war to free the surfs, you think there won't be a few more civil war due to military dictatorships, you think they could develop economy when it took an arm and a leg for the CHINESE government to get the rail road into tibet, you think they could have opportunities in terms of business, technology, careers if they were just Tibetans and not Chinese.

And yea, India is improving, just today I saw some towels that were made in India, pretty good for the price.
