The golden period of Germany has long gone. Now their technology is nothing special in front of China: for heavy equipment, rolling stocks, telecommunication, electronics, aerospace technology, super computers, defense technology, etc.. etc..
These so-called "high tech" is nothing more but money! including jet-engines, the more money invested in research, the more advanced your technology becomes. As China's economy scale is now rapidly approaching EU, the more appropriate comparison will be China vs EU in technology, not vs any individual EU nations. The only country on this planet who is still ahead of China in overall technology strength at this moment is USA, and again their advantage is rapidly disappearing. This kind of news such as exporting some jet engine making technology is not surprising at all to us..

They are something which you cant do without it. Yes, you can invest and start from zero. But it will cost you alot of time and money and result you lagging behind your peer.
As per case of Russian, w/o the CNC machine. Russian submarine propeller technology will be another 10 years behind western counterparts.

People just need to wake up to the reality of China prowess. The hundred USD billions we invested in R&D , industries and education is something not any mid tier countries with an economy size of 3-4 trillion USD can do it.

Only the American and China seat on the same level as both has the will, money and pool of talent to get the job done.

Maybe you need to read back your statement? I never talk about who you are of behaving whatever... But more of you cant accept China is already a tech power. Look at your statement of " China still has long road " Tell me how many countries can you count has more roads than China beside USA? There isn't much.. I am correct of your biased and denial of reality. Why I didnt see you talking of Germany needing more catch up? But it does not matter becos CPC leadership is wise and they are leading China the correct direction with all their investment in R&D, education and infrastructure upgrade. Let sourgrape be what they are. Their opinion will not stop the mighty China progress

I don't think this article is funny at all. I was a little bit skeptical that China's technology had advanced so far, so fast -- but then I looked into it further and I saw that Germany was actually Europe's retard when it comes to jet engine technology. The big European jet engine manufacturers are British (Rolls-Royce) and French (Snecma).

But take heart; by collaborating with China, Germany will be able to leap ahead.

As much as i respect the Germans for their efficiency and inventions the past 100 years, i think @Georg has his head stuck in the mud way too long. How much proof do we have to post that China has already surpassed many countries like Japan, Germany, Russia, US on many areas. No country can totally dominate everything, this applies to Germany as well. Some just can't accept the fact that China is taking leads in many technological breakthrough.
