You know very little about China and chinese political system, the culture difference is too big for non chinese to understand our political system, but I donot care about that and donot want to waste time to educate you. As a chinese,I think the biggest advantage for us is the political system when compared to the west, but the outside world think the political system is our weakest point,LOL.....Time will prove everything, let us wait and see. By the way,If you donot want to see us show off,you no need to read this thread.I don't think that is constructive and relevant to the statement I've made~
That is the flaw and valid concern. Everyone in political science knows that. You can't dismiss it by throwing ad hominem attack.
And no~ I;m not from India, and it is not relevant to the topics you started.
I thought you started this thread for discussion? Am I wrong?
And now you dismiss the valid concern that I've stated regarding Chinese political system? Well? It seems you don't expect critical discussion but to just show off?
Wow, as for me I see a Chinese traditional and centralised government. Chinese Values
Agree. Absorb good aspects from other values but never be replaced by them.I looked through the achievements of China for 2014 and some selected ones are:-
- 13.22 million new urban jobs created
- over 66 million rural people gain access to safe drinking water
- farmland under water-saving irrigation increased by 2.23 million hectares.
- length of high-speed railways up and running exceeded 16,000 km, accounting for more than 60% of the world's total.
- length of expressway open to public grew to 112,000 km
- number of internet users exceeded 780 million
- number of rural students from poor rural areas newly enrolled in key colleges and universities increased by 10%
- over 95% of the population covered by medical insurance.
These achievements could not be matched by any of the so-called democratic system. If I am wrong, please enlighten me.
In China's plan for 2015, some of my selected ones:-
- investment on railways, keep above 800 billion yuan
- more than 800 billion yuan of investment on ongoing key water conservation projects
- provide safe drinking water for another 60 million rural people in villages.
- try to provide electricity to the last group of 200,000 people
- renovate 3.66 million houses in rural areas, with coordinated construction of quake-proof housing
- lower more than 3.1% of carbon emission
- return 10 million mu (~ 7,000 sq km) of farmland to forests or grassland and establish 9 million mu (~6,000 sq km) of forests.
I have no doubt that China will achieve most if not all of them.
Deng Xiaoping once said, ""It doesn't matter whether a cat is white or black, as long as it catches mice."
Likewise, it doesn't matter what political system a country has, as long as it delivers it is a good system for that country. For the current period (the last 35 years) in China, the PRC system is the best for China because it delivers. It is certainly better than the democratic system in Greece, Italy or Philippines which is not delivering. However, due to differences in culture and history this Chinese system may not be appropriate for other countries. Therefore, it is not right for the west to lecture China on democracy. Nor is it right for China to tell the other countries to follow their system. Fortunately, the Chinese don't do this.
When the west keeps on trumpeting democracy, we have to ask, which one. Is it the US system, the UK system or some other system. We have the following democratic systems:-
- constitutional monarchy (eg. UK, Denmark, Sweden).
- Republic (eg. US).
- Parliamentary (e.g Israel, India).
And the type of election is either:-
- direct democracy.
- representative democracy.
To complicate matters, China is no longer communist although the party in control is called the Communist Party. Just like in my country, the Liberal Party is not liberal but more conservative and the Labour Party panders to companies and big business not the ordinary labour (people).
IMHO, with regards to the economic system, China is more capitalist than most capitalist countries.
I noticed throughout history China makes substantial progress when it has a strong central government whether it's a strong emperor (eg. Shih Huang Ti) or currently the CPC.
My conclusion - China will do best if it keeps its current system of "democracy with Chinese characteristics with strong central government". But constantly and slowly evolve your political system to suit the times. Don't rest on your laurels.

We are NOT outrageous at all. Just like I said ,you know little about our political system,we donot want to waste time to discuss with you the "truth" which is far beyond our political reality. In China, more than 90% chinese support the CCP,you can say we are brainwashed ,it does not matter ,time will prove who are brainwashed. In my view, you are very ridiculous to keep discussing something you actcually donot know. You looks very certain in your assumption about who I am and what I understand~ to the point of arrogance I must say.
Unfortunately, that is far from the truth.
Forum is the place where everybody can discuss about something pertaining to the topic the OP started, yet I stood here only to be dismissed? What an outrageous attitude the Chinese members here have!
Or maybe my understanding of the word "forum" is different?
ignore Indian trolls. You can never win an illogical debate with them.We are NOT outrageous at all. Well~ you can say you "elect" a pre-determined group of peoples from a single party (CPC) who will elect a bunch of peoples who will elect a number of peoples who will elect your leaders who will indirectly determined who you will elect at the lowest level direct election.
To make it clear:
You -> Pre-determined candidates nominated by someone higher in power -> County/Townhsip Congress -> Municipal Congress -> Provincial Congress -> National Congress -> State Leaders
You can see how this will end. Someone higher in power/influence will nominate who will most likely elect him to the post, and so on and so on to the highest level.
