If we are to care about anything, it is not because some others advised us about that; but because we think it is the right thing to do. China achieved a certain level of development, so, that's why it has become the largest investor, manufacturer, and exporter of green technologies in the world.

India is not a manufacturing powerhouse although it is more polluted and polluting than China is. If it is going to take China to the level of a developed nation, I do not care about the large hole we put somewhere up there. We can fix it up later on.

One thing for sure. Indians should be given credit for her large vegetarian population. As many may have already known, meat industry generates vast amount of greenhouse gas (methane, particularly). The recent increase in meat/fish/diary consumption by Chinese is really causing more damage to the planet than it should have if there were similar number of Chinese vegetarians.
