Detection is not the problem. Flying at Mach 3-4 it will be leaving a long trail of IR signature. Shooting it down is the real problem. It may not be a concern for China but in case of Pakistan it will definitely be giving migranes to certain people.
A modern day Phalanx can fire thousands of bullets in a minute, lets see the Brahmos dodge those bullets. Pakistan's Anti Aircraft guns are radar guided, and hit with deadly accuracy. Not counting PAF's and PA's extensive SAM coverage. PAF will spot the IR signature of Brahmos from miles and miles away.
Without a doubt Brahmos is a good missile and its not easy to shoot down due to its sheer speed and evasive manoeuvrability capabilities
Correction
Its fast but not manoeuvrable
