You can do whatever you want, Chinese people don't care. But we want to ensure peace and stability in South Asia which is why we are increasing our presence in South Asia to protect our friends and allies like Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Maldives.
We want to keep Indian hegemony in check, India will not be allowed to bully it's neighbours when we are in the region.

Closing down the straits of malacca is one of the most stupid things you can do. That's where vast majority of global trade goes through and sinking container ships carrying goods will bring you massive backlash from the international community as the global economy will suffer and you will be blamed. It's like Iran threatening to close the strait of Hormuz and causing oil price spikes. India will look like a pariah state.

Not only that but closing down the strait of malacca is a major declaration of war against China. The PLA will respond with maximum force to impose maximum possible punishment to India. You got no idea who you are messing with. PLA generals are cold, brutal and absolutely ruthless men. Disrupting our economy will cause social protests and the PLA will take out its anger out on India. Indian military is in absolutely no position to take on the PLA for any length of time.

Why do Indians care about our relationship with Pakistan? Why does it get you guys so worked up?

A good question now let me give you the Indian side of the view:

1. Pakistan sees India as it arch enemy and have waged four wars all of which have been started by them (now for some sources to justify the claim)

First, Indo-Pakistani War of 1947

This is also called the First Kashmir War. The war started in October 1947 when it was feared by the Pakistan that Maharajah of the princely state of Kashmir and Jammu might accede to India as choice was given to him on the matter to accede to any of the newly independent nations. Tribal forces from Pakistan attacked and occupied the princely state, resulting in Maharajah signing the Agreement to the accession of the princely state to India.

Second Indo-Pakistani War of 1965

This war started following Pakistan's Operation Gibraltar, which was designed to infiltrate forces into Jammu and Kashmir to precipitate an insurgency against rule by India. India retaliated by launching an attack on Pakistan.

Third Indo-Pakistani War of 1971

Following Operation Searchlight and the 1971 Bangladesh atrocities, about 10 million Bengalis in East Pakistan took refuge in neighbouring India. India intervened in the ongoing Bangladesh liberation movement. After a large scale pre-emptive strike by Pakistan, full-scale hostilities between the two countries commenced.

Cause for this war:

Bangladeshi authorities claim that as many as 3 million people were killed, although the Hamoodur Rahman Commission, an official Pakistan Government investigation, put the figure as low as 26,000 civilian casualties. The international media and reference books in English have also published figures which vary greatly from 200,000 to 3,000,000 for Bangladesh as a whole, with 300,000 to 500,000 being a figure quoted by news outlets such as the BBC for the estimated death toll as counted by independent researchers.

Fourth Kargil War 1999

Pakistani troops along with Kashmiri insurgents infiltrated across the Line of Control (LoC) and occupied Indian territory mostly in the Kargil district.

Now if you read from unbiased neutral sources you will come to know more about the wars.

Now the reason why India gets worked up is China continues to arm Pakistan to the teeth with its joint military projects which eventually will be used against India.

Got another reason why India gets worried:

China supports Pakistan's stance on Kashmir while Pakistan supports China on the issues of Xinjiang, Tibet, and Taiwan.

China also has a consistent record of supporting Pakistan in regional issues. During the Pakistan-Indian tensions in 2008, it implied that it would support Pakistan in the event of a war. Pakistan's military depends heavily on Chinese armaments, and joint projects of both economic and militaristic importance are ongoing.
