No necessarily true though. There is a inheritance tax for that, but China doesn't have it so far.
Well, if I remember correctly, inheritance tax does not kick in until your estate reaches an astronomical amount. I remember correctly the exemption threshold was something like 5 millions in the US.
Most people did not get charged an inheritance tax, we did not pay the tax when my mum died and we inherit her estate worth something like 4.5 Mil in the US.
