Chinese Company China North Industries Group Corporation (NORINCO) has delivered a batch of advanced portable HJ-12E also called Red Arrow 12 anti-tank missiles to an undisclosed foreign buyer. It is the first export contract of the third-generation anti-tank weapon system developed by the Chinese company.

Chinese Defense Company NORINCO did not disclose more details on the deal in the statement, including the name of the buyer, the quantity purchased and the value of the deal.

The Chinese-made HJ-12 Red Arrow 12 anti-tank missile system was presented for the first time to the public at the China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition 2014 (AirShow China), which was held in Zhuhai (China) from the 11 to 16 November 2014.

The launcher unit of the Red Arrow 12 seems to be similar to the Israeli Spike missile system and the American FGM-148 Javelin. The launch missile container is mounted on a tripod with its fire control unit. The firing sight is mounted on the left of the missile container. The missile launch unit can also be mounted on a combat vehicle.

The HJ-12 missile system adopts an IR imaging seeker for all-weather day-and-night use, and an equally-effective daytime model using a TV imaging seeker is also available. The TV version has a maximum range of 4,000 m, while the IR version has only a maximum range of 2,000 m.

The HJ-12 uses fire-and-forget technology, which does not require further guidance after launch, such as illumination of the target or wire guidance, is an important property for a guided weapon to have, since a person or vehicle that lingers near the target to guide the missile is vulnerable to attack and unable to carry out other tasks.

It will be most likely a GCC customer.

. . .
Highly doubt it! this is sensitive stuff and Syria cannot be the destination of it. for Syria second gen is good enough.
China is quite p!ssed off with the US and is capable of doing anything at the moment.

. . .
Shall be UAE as buyer and then transfer to LNA. This missile will be very handy in using hit and run tactics in fixed asset city assault of Tripoli.

UAE is a big buyer of Chinese arms and willing to buy a lot new equipment to use them on battle.

. . .
No tanks on LOC though..
Only India showboating with Apaches
They're for hitting positions such as bunkers, buildings and any army vehicles etc - yes even tanks, if need arises.

"The HJ-12E Red Arrow 12 is a portable, fire-and-forget anti-tank missile capable of hitting tanks, bunkers, ships and helicopters, with a penetration capability of 1,100 millimeters — in other words, it’s not the kind of weapon you want to go up against.

Domestically produced in China, it is often compared to the GFM-148 Javelin missile used by the US military.

The HJ-12 enables soldiers to lock on target, fire and then move on without maintaining position to guide the missile to its target, providing tactical advantages.

Sources say the missile is capable of destroying even the most advanced tanks in the world — perhaps one of the reasons the US Marines are scrapping their tank divisions."

During IDEAS 2018 a similar Anti Tank was being displayed but it was from some other Chinese Company

Don't think so that it is for Pakistan ...

couple of years ago, a team went to china for HJ12 (but i never heard about potential order by Pakistan)

anyhow , hope for best

Pakistan has bought this, but not for war on LOC, but on international border for Lahore, Bahawalpur and Multan Corps to combat larger number of Indian tanks. They have twice the number of our tanks, and better quality on average. China is preparing for war for Arunachal Pradesh, and so is Pakistan for Kashmir in a decade, at this rate. 1962 will be repeated.
