China grows only 2.2% QoQ in Q1

Well, it's QoQ. It's not bad compared to pre-Covid years, but they had a bad quarter in 2022Q4. Still prefer YoY measurements.

Do you even know you are arguing against yourself. If we take QoQ then chinas latest growth is 9 percent annualized.

QoQ or YoY, it doesn’t really matter, because my point still stands. Chinas growth trend line is declining to the point where they may never surpass US GDP.

Outside of year 1 of Covid, China hasn’t been able to close the gap with US GDP for the last decade.

An the US is growing at a rate to where China will find it exceedingly difficult to catch up if it doesn’t start taking chunks out of that gap soon.

I still remember my early days on PDF when Chinese were claiming their GDP would be 2-3X the size of US GDP.

You can kiss those dreams goodbye
