Internet media should play a greater role in breaking the "glass wall" of information exchange between China and India, China.org.cn Vice President Wang Xiaohui said Monday.

Definitely. But so far a wishful thinking from the Chinese side.

I can tell you, in fact internet plays a negative role between India and China information flow now.

Internet Indians are very different from real world Indians. Should the Chinese believe most Indians are like internet Indians, they would think Indians are, except for a few, arrogant, myopic, bellicose, war-mongering, no independent thinking capability, China-hater, split-personality (commie curser but Soviet loving), neo-imperialistic, jingoistic, gleeful in Japanese raping Chinese and would like to join Japanese in the raping, jealous of Chinese commie achievements, longing for join USA, Japan, Vietnam, etc. to contain China...

…or maybe real world Indians just hide their true thinking.

You tell me.

I especially had a laugh on the highlighted part--- I tell you folks, this guys thinks his residence of china town USA is China's town in actuality :D part of his " chinese is the master race seditious theory"

little personal experience with indians and Pakistan people.
I have a good friend who I thought was indian, im sry but to me some of indians and Pakistani look alike. Turns out she's from Pakistan family, and we laughed at my mistake.
Then I met some indians who are hired by Canadian company from india to Canada to do some temp job, females r polite, quiet, and respectful nice people but most of the guys looked down on everyone who is not white; insisting their version of English is the correct one and keep trying to correct others with their funny accent; treat hotel staff like servants with no respect. I assume those r well educated indians.
Even if they were born in Canada, the more traditional their families are, the more they r like those whos from india
I guess it is a cultural thing

Wang said Indian people's understanding of China only comes from reports influenced by western media or those of foreign observers visiting China. "They have no way to learn about the real China."
I beg to differ here! Especially when China blows hot and cold in regard to India's oil exploration contract with Vietnam! Is this 'Western propaganda'? Check out what your spokesman said:

"'Every means possible’ would be used to stop India’s Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) Videsh engaging in exploration projects in the South China Sea. India should bear in mind that its actions in the South China Sea will push China to the limit.

"Our consistent position is that we are opposed to any country engaging in oil and gas exploration and development activities in waters under China's jurisdiction which enjoys "indisputable sovereignty" over the South China Sea and its islands."

Such rhetoric risks raising the stakes at a time when Sino-India ties are already strained. So, this is reality and NOT some propaganda by the Western media. But of course, it is a well known fact that the PLA has categorically stated that they are not controlled by the government but by the Communist Party of China. Thus, they now have taken over the reins of Security and foreign affairs. Is it any wonder that China is gradually becoming more belligerent every passing day and earning the wrath of a number of nations especially on the periphery of the South China Sea?

Not to forget the frequent incursions into Indian territory by Chinese troops since the last couple of years after the PLA took control.

Internet 'key for China-India exchange' - China.org.cn

"Compared with their economic and trade relations, the information flow between China and India seems not quite smooth," Wang said.

True.

He said the only reports about China he saw on Indian TV during his ten-day trip were two news items about the country's food safety problems.

This Shows that, In reality common person in India doesn't care about whats happening in china.

But although online media exchange should be natural for the two neighboring countries with two of the world's biggest populations, Wang said India's print and broadcast media are heavily influenced by the West. He said the most influential news channels in India are joint ventures with either CNN or BBC, such as CNN-IBN.

:no::no:

With more than 120 news channels in english, hindi and other regional languages broadcasting news 24/7, competing for TRPs; majority will not give 2 hoots to such news channels, perceived to be most influential. In other words with so many channels Information has become like a commodity and people are smart enough to choose the correct one.

Wang said Chinese netizens should be effectively guided:woot: to respond objectively to inaccurate media reports in India[/U] that are biased against China, which would in turn amplify China's voice on the world stage.

Interesting. :pop:. Speaks volumes, regarding the love towards Indian media; shown by chinese friends, here on pdf ? :cheesy:

Meanwhile, Wang urged the media agencies to take advantage of the special properties of the Internet and enable more users in China and India to connect on major news websites. This way, Wang said the two people could increase mutual understanding and deepen friendship, laying down the cornerstone of trust between these two countries.

True, but by using the platforms belonging to 2 countries only ; without any "third party" intervention. :)
