India made no concessions in Ladakh's Chumar region: China

New Delhi: China on Tuesday rejected talks that India had made concessions in the Chumar region in southern Ladakh to end its standoff across the Line of Actual Control (LAC), triggered by the recent incursion by Chinese troops in Ladakh's Daulat Oldi Begi sector.
After the three-week long standoff ended on Monday, speculation was rife that India had agreed to demolish a border observation bunker in the Chumar region in southern Ladakh, which China had objected to. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), however, had denied the allegation.
Meanwhile, sources say External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid, when he visits China this week, will have a candid talk with his Chinese counterpart.

Sources say border management will be a part of the talks. Sources add that India will press China to clarify Line of Actual Control, and exchange maps.
India is also reportedly considering China's proposal for a pact on border defence cooperation. Meanwhile, sources says the incident at Depsang, Ladakh has dented confidence in China. But Beijing rejects any talk that India made any concessions to China in the Chumar region of Ladakh.
Sources say only one shelter was brought down by Indian troops. This was the shelter that was completed after April 15.
Chinese troops have regularly infiltrated the region in the recent past. The India-China face-off got the attention of the Pentagon as well. In a report to the US Congress, it warned that China's use of force to settle disputed borders, referring to rising tensions driven by rival claims in Arunachal and Ladakh. It said China had settled border disputes with 11 countries since 1998 but those with India remained unsettled.
The Chinese and Indian armies have withdrawn simultaneously from face-off point at the Daulat Beg Oldi sector in Ladakh on Sunday. Chinese soldiers had pitched their tents in the DBO area since April 15, 2013 and had refused to vacate the positions in the failed flag meetings held between the two sides to resolve the issue. A battalion of Chinese troops estimate at about 50 and accompanied by vehicles and dogs had intruded 19 km inside the Indian territory across the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in DBO sector and set up five tents.
The Indian troops had also established tented posts facing the Chinese forces at a distance of 300 metres. The troops of the two sides held four flag meetings, the last one being on Saturday.

@Abingdonboy

Good to know you realise how terrible India is at this game, that's why all it's neighbours hate India and are in China's camp.

Btw, people keep droning on about this nuke deal, has anything been signed? Has work started? Which countries are selling uranium to India? Post some pics of these new civilian nuclear power plants.

@illusion8 You have nailed it .....!!!!!!

mate good to hear that now trolls and false flaggers will be silent.:agree:

Only in india they claim a victory even after a broad day light rape of the whole nation by mere 20/30 foot soldiers

You people are the last one to comment when drones are ravaging your people every day, worst you people do not even complain as if you like it,.

Chinese for the first time back tracked, they haven't done int in SCS or against Japanese, you will see more assertive India in the future.

India Today has a habit of posting fake news.
Last year they posted that a CRPF jawan was taken hostage by militants in Sopore which was later proven to be fake.

Nothing to cover up...china admitted officially india made no concessions.Came, had a picnic then back to old style.End of story.Too many of these threads now going around.Mods merge these threads.

Well, you dispute the whole of Kashmir, doesn't bother us in the least. As long as we are physically in control, nothing else matters.

well if you cant keep your indian tents in the area despite your above claims then indeed you are just trying to appease yourself by fake self-proclaimation in this regard

There were no Indian tents there before the Chinese came. They get face savers too.

I'm not really interested in these kind of juvenile assertions, I remain concerned as to what India actually conceded, apart from the tents. Even reuters is reporting that India agreed to tear down bunkers in Chumar section. That would be a matter of some concern, not the actual pulling down of the bunkers itself but the manner in which that has occurred.
