China-EU Geopolitics: News & Discussions

Did you actually think before you post? like EVER??

The US oppose to China becoming a market economy because the CHINESE AREN'T MARKET ECONOMY.

You still have not answer me how US will be hit hard like you said when US is already flooded with Chinese product??

By the way, if you care to look at what US put on export/iimport control, almost all of the control item are defence or strategically related. Do us a favour, go look at DoC import and export control list and look at what they were protecting. Then open your mouth. Not before.

Wow man why are you getting so offended when anyone even mentions the USA? Neither of your flags are American?

Like I said, how ironic. The champion of free trade (USA) is the most protectionist country in the world, by far.

We'll get Market economy status sooner or later. By constantly opposing us, America is just proving time and time again that they are enemies of the Chinese people.

.
what does Market Economy have to do with intellectual right and patents?
the most comprehensive international IP rule are set in trade agreements like TPP.
Huawei selling phones in USA right now, why is Apple not suing them?

One of the pillar of being a free market is intellectual right to properties. It have everything related to the local market competition of foreign company. Screening patent lawsuit is also part of market economy value.

The core idea of free market is to get rid of unfair competition, copying intellectual properties is one of the idea, the fact is, it gave an "unfair" advantage to whoever copying, and would that be the core goal of "yours" free market you want other to perceive? Well, that's your problem

Of course I am not saying Apple can sue Xiaomi for what it HAD already done prior to the date, but if Xiaomi continue to copy Apple product, which is where its general direction come from.

Why Apple have to sue Huawei when they have not copy a single thing from Apple? They were of different design, Why apple have to sue Huawei??

Export control is mostly high tech, you should check ITC anti-dumping list. :haha:

Dude, have you actually look at both list?

There are 133 item in ITC Anti-Dumping list, around half to 60% of them are targeting China only

Compare to the Export control list of 251 item, range from fighter jet, ballistic helmet, night vision goggle to electronic and to CPU....The Anti-dumping list is well, minimalized.

Am I getting offended? No

I simply ask you a question regarding the thing you said. Because you still yet to have answer the question on how the Chinese becoming a market economy will hurt the US more than it does now?

Am I entitle to ask? Well, if you don't want people asking you why, don't say it.

If and when EU or US accept China as a free market, I will think Xiaomi will go bust first as there would be million of lawsuit that will be brought on by Apple and Samsung which nby then the Chinese government cannot pretend those thing don't exist.

Huawei is already selling phones there.

So why will Huawei go bust after "millions of lawsuits"?

Umm, why anyone would want to go sue Huawei?

I am talking about Xiaomi, and the reason why Xiaomi did not sell their phone in the US.

And again, you still have not answer me why US will be hit hard when China get market economy status?

Be a man, back up your claim.

Like I said, because America is the number 1 most protectionist country in the world.

And Market economy status means that other countries will have a harder time using protectionist measures against us, especially the number 1 offender.

So America is going to get hit hard, that's why they are so vocally opposed to China getting Market economy status. They'll have to compete based on actual efficiency, rather than covering up with protectionism and other anti-free trade measures.

As I said, it does not answer anything.

Chinese product was FLOODED into the US, protectionist or not, it did not subside the mass of Chinese product to flood into US in last 20 years, and if there were a protectionist order which would require a higher price to sell the cheaper Chinese product in the US, then how would it damage the US when said restriction is being removed? By then the Chinese would have to sell a lot more product with a cheaper price.

You can sell whatever you want, the basic economic principal remain the same, supply always related to demand, it does not matter if China increase supply, if the demand is lacking, it does nothing, in fact, it would only harm the Chinese company as their profit margin would simply, gone.

So I ask you again, how removing the protectionist policy to Chinese product would hurt the US? Are the US also lift their demand when China becoming Market Economy? (Which have totally ZERO RELATION) or China gonna flood even more product to the US?

Again, be a man, own up to your point.

If what you are saying is true, then why is America the number 1 most protectionist country in the world?

Do you think they created all those protectionist measures just for fun?

That's because you have ZERO idea on how US economy works. That have already been discussed a few post above you, check them. The US protection is MAINLY TO US EXPORT. Which have 251 export restriction on their list (Also an imcomplete list), while Import restriction have lass than 150 (If you put both ITC Anti-dumping list and a list of health and environment concern)

On the other hand the Chinese protectionist policy is to restrict most import, by set up tariff and taxes to protect local company. So how exactly US protection to its export would damage US when China declare a fre market? That the American have to sell you their intel processor? Which was on the export control list?

Sometime I just wonder how can a person promote to the rank of Think Tank analysis. Well, I guess this is like T-ball game in elementary school, everybody wins. Geez, they handing out title like chocolate these day.

You are wrong again.
free market economy is about supply/demand, and a market driven by businesses instead of artificial plan implemented by government.
You are confused with market economy with Capitalism.

Nice personal attack.

Like I said, America is the number 1 most protectionist country in the entire world. They pretend to be the champions of free trade, but in fact they are the exact opposite.

And for the same reason, they are now opposing China's Market economy status. But as usual, there is nothing they can do about it.

They can just sit back and watch their protectionist walls fall down. And continue in their path of decline.

And you are confused between free market and market economy.

Free market is the system to regulate the price of an item based solely on supply and demand. Which is one part of Market economy.

Market economy is a economy model to for which investment, production, goods and service is basing on a "Free Pricing System" which basically rely on the market integrity and the government non-interventionist measure. The fact that government does not intervene on the lawsuit which protect the price integrity is seen as an interventionist measure (by not interference) and create an unfair trading environment.

Look at the title and what does it says? Did EU declare China a free market? or an Market economy?

lol, an diplomat article, you may as well quote RT...

By the way, this article still haven't answer the fact that even with unfair "Trading restriction" there are still flood of Chinese product in US to score the article first line

The United States and China have one of the largest trading relationships in the world, at over $550 billion per year

Nice personal attack.

Where is the personal attacks?

I ask for your explanation of your point, and yet you jerk me around, is this the behaviour of a title member? I raise a valid question regarding your posting content, if you cannot answer it, then I am insulting you??

lol, why can't you just say I don't know and I might actually let you slide, but now, you keep showing that you are intelligently dead and cannot even come up with a valid response beside the canned statement like we saw in CCP press conference..

Lol time indeed has changed.

edited the word in red.......jesus, I need some sleep.

You're saying I'm "intelligently dead"? Can you explain how that makes any grammatical sense?

lol, how's that an personal attack?

You are intelligently dead on this subject, have you contribute any more point that you have already done 6 post ago? If you do not, THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN AN INTELLECTURALLY DEAD DISCUSSION.

Meaning, no more new idea float around as you keep mumbling the same thing for 5 post.

If I say someone is dead-tired because he ain't moving, would it be an insult to him? Or do you have a better word for it? Like Merry-Go-Around?

Let alone you put US in the topic to begin with, the topic is EU and Market economy in China, Do you have to drag the US in EVERY SINGLE POST YOU INVOLVED? Have not @Hu Songshan and @Slav Defence already told you not to?

"INTELLECTURALLY DEAD"? You know the first one isn't even a word right?

Did you even read the articles posted?

The US is the one opposing China's Market economy status. Which is no surprise, since they are the number 1 most protectionist country in the world, the most anti-free trade.
