What's new

China Eastern set to operate C919's first commercial flight on Sunday, flying China's busiest domestic flight route from Shanghai to Beijing

A lot of the western popular civilian aircraft suffered far bigger accident during fledging time, including A320, B737Max, A330, B787. I predict C919 accident will be most minor

Worst is 737MAX

COMAC uses foreign engine just for the convenience to get the airworthiness certification for C919 done fast, and now CJ-1000A is already flying, China can replace the engines anytime if needs be.

.........I don't know if this is what you do with CASC in China, but in the west, you can't do that.

You can't replace that engine if they were certified with another engine.

You will have your airworthiness certificate pulled if you replace the LEAP Engine with CJ-1000A. Then you will need to resubmit the application for C-919 for CJ-1000 Engine.

retesting the plane with a new engine is much faster than retesting an entirely new plane.

If it's really coming to the point that the west just cuts all ties withe China and stops supply that engine, that airworthiness certificate will be no longer needed in China. C919 is targetting the world aviation market and getting more countries involved in this project helps China to break into those countries markets, getting US partners in this project serves the same purpose.

now need to focus on replacing all US origin parts with domestic ones and ramp up production.

Yes, and next you will say russia is doing itself a favor by not going to any destination in the world.

Dude, you will need western certification IF YOU WANT TO USE THEM anywhere outside China, most countries in the world follow western Aviation Safety rules, ie, if you are Blacklisted by FAA or EASA in EU or CAA in UK, you cannot fly to western destination.

Unless you are marketing these country to not fly into the West and only fly into China. It didn't work that way

An Aircraft without FAA/CASA/EASA approval will not sell well internationally.,

A complete package is always easier to pass because you have a different parameter with different engine, which mean from alerion to trim, you are going to need to readjust and redesign the system, and that also means you will need to have a new avionic to goes with. And if you do that, you will have to ground the entire fleet until your aircraft is recertified.

In a way it's a lot harder to do because you build your entire aircraft with those parts and specifically those parts in mind, you change one of the parameters you will need to change the entire design.

I can't even remember when the last time is a production aircraft. anywhere in the world have an engine change mid-way thru their service life.

China is the world biggest aviation market, if the west blacklisted China , do you think China will just take it lying down? this is why I said IF it comes to that point, but this is a BIG IF.

.
China strategy is likely flying C919 CJ1000, internally, then to friendly countries like SE Asia, Russia, Central Asia, Middle East, where CJ1000 got air proven by sovereign aviation authorities.

White man land will be the last.

China is the biggest aviation market in the world but it is NOTHING compared to the world.

Again, unless you can convince "The World" to not fly to any destination in the west, you can't do shit if your aircraft does not have western certification.

It's not bravado, it's not BIG IF, it is a fact. Unless your "fact" is the west bend over backward to the Chinese and allow them to fly into the west without certification even if they blacklist China......which is just dumb.

LoL, Acutally I really look forward to west cutting ties with C 919, When do you think it's going to happen?

lol, you should ask the Chinese.

Do you think if Chinese part is viable you would still have western part on your C919?

Again, if you don't have demand, where the supplies come from?

.
lol, you should ask the Chinese.
Asking China? why China wants to cut China? and C919 is targetting the world aviation market and getting more countries involved in this project helps China to break into those countries markets, getting US partners in this project serves the same purpose. China doesn't need to cut ties at this stage, it's you arguing about this almost impossible scenario, this is why I ask you when you think the west will cut ties.

Again, it's Chinese demand of those western parts, not the west force you to buy them.

As I said, if Chinese aircraft part is viable, would China be using western parts on their "Home Grown" C-919 jet?

You asked for parts, not the west, the west will not supplies any if China is not buying any, how hard is it to understand this?

And again, as a general rules, an aircraft that cannot pass FAA/CASA/EASA would usually not sold well internationally. Believe it or not is up to you

It's not a demand, it's business cooperation like everywhere else in the world. C919 is targetting the world aviation market and getting more countries involved in this project helps China to break into those countries markets, getting US partners in this project serves the same purpose.
