This statement has more to do with politics than any reality.. appears more of a face saving act after more than a month of actually blaming them.. If this statement is in fact true then it's shameful you had to blame the long standing ally within days of unrest without even conducting proper investigation.
It was just the local authorities of Kashgher not central govt of China who accused some kind of non state actors from Pakistan involvement in these incidents. And now after proper investigations since it is clear that their wasn't a foreign hand they made it clear to the whole world. No problem there in my opinion. Shows the strength of alliance between the two.
Let me clarify one thing, i.e. not even the local authorities made the accusation. I did some checking on a few major Chinese sites and found out that the reference was made by an academic from the Xiangjiang Institute of Social Sciences. What he said was that one of the apprehended terrorists confessed that their ring leader received training in Pakistan. Western media fudged on the source and managed to give us the impression that Xiangjiang authorties made the accusatin. As always, western media slice and dice facts to misrepresent and misinform.
