I've been to Tibet once during Tibetan new year time. Beautiful place filled with beautiful and warm hearted peoples. I liked the place and people.
I was there for 10 day and did not feel and anguish/ pain in general public. In general all of them looked very happy and content with state of life they were in. Festival season may have something to do with public mood.
Tourist income is one of the biggest revenue generator for Tibetans. Even though majority of service industry is controlled by migrated Chinese , the closing tourists may result in loss of jobs for some and result in more protests. So long term ban will not benefit any one.
I hope Chinese Govt. care for it’s people and will open this paradise for tourists
