China calls for creating good environment for Sri Lanka's stability

China on Thursday called on the international community to create a good environment for the stability, construction and development of Sri Lanka.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Weimin made the remarks when asked to give comment on the post-war reconstruction and economic development of Sri Lanka.

Liu also appealed to the international community for support and cooperation to the Sri Lankan government.

"As Sri Lanka's friendly neighbor, China has been paying close attention to the country's domestic situation since it ended the armed domestic conflict over two years ago," Liu said, adding that China feels happy for the positive development of Sri Lanka's social stability, economic development and reconstruction.

China believes the Sri Lankan government and people are able to resolve relevant issues, Liu added.

What the Chinese are doing now is capitalizing on there new found status ...

Naturally smaller countries take there Lip serve, hook line and sinker,Like innocent lambs.
They should be saying this to Pakistan rather than Shirilanka ...but alas .

Nevertheless i do not think Shirilanka is in a habit of making knee-jerk policies like our western neighbor.
They seem to be projecting a pretty stable foreign policy..

I am happy that CHINA has asked the international community to help the SL on bringing the country back to its growth,
but the thing that worries me the most is that as one of the leaders of the developing countries China is not asking for investigation into war crimes committed on the part of SL army during the Eelam wars.

Which tibetan are u talking about ?? Hans settled in Tibet as per Chinese govt policy of ethnic cleansing of indigenous tibetan population or the local tibetans who are giving their life for simple right to free speech/right to protect their religion..

Go and first brush up ur history..Read about 1962, 1979 or 1987 etc..

China has built its foreign relation on the blood of innocent Vietnamese, Indians..

China never will gain true respect in the world coz they only help nations committing genocide on their locals and who are shunned by the world community..

There are no areas called "Tamil Areas" in Sri Lanka, There are the areas which Tamil percentage is higher. Also there are areas/cities which Moors percentage is higher. Indians see other countries thinking about their system, you guys will never get this experience coz of your system. There is a big difference living in a block of a country and living in a country.
