For Taiwanese president visit to US and meeting the congress house speaker couple days ago. China also sanctions some institutions and persons in US and Taiwan for hosting the meeting.

I personally don't see the point of these drills. They seem to be expected now after these political visits occurring with some sanctions slapped in for good measure which also will have little effect. If its a face saving measure so be it.

It is more than exercise. After all these exercise, the encroachment get more and more severe to a point that Taiwanese feel this is new normal. Eventually PLA could be just swimming at Taiwan beech.

It is a matter of time Taiwanese soldiers surrender and often they will tie up those US advisor as a gift.
