The trend among China and United States cannot be stopped by hawkish rights and brainwashing media. Almost all Americans who come to China find that the American media is always badmouthing China; While almost all Chinese who come to United States are disappointed because United States is not as good as Chinese Media claims.

I do not dispute the second half of your statement. But I'd like to point out that the United States IS as good as whatever media claims and even better in many aspects. One cannot get to know a country by a short visit. A few days, weeks even months is not enough. I don't have time or the skills (to be frank) to write it all out. Let me just put it this way, there is a reason why people from all over the world want to go and live there.

On the other hand, American media does tend to paint an overlay negative picture about China. So much so that many Americans are convinced that we are this third world country whose people are controlled by ruthless dictatorship. That's why they are surprised by the reality when they get here. IMO we are improving, but we are still far away from the advanced societies like the U.S.

I do not mean that China is better than United States. I just mean that United States is not as good as claimed by Chinese media. Chinese reporters, mostly trained by Confucian ways, are disliked by CCP. They tend to report a better United States. CCP encourages this behavior because they want more Chinese to emigrate to other countries. Westerners occupied the biggest chunk of lands during colonization era. Chinese still can occupy some more lands through the immigration policy of United States, Canada and Australia. India is clearly playing the same strategy.

People all over the world wanting to come to countries such US, canada and australia is because there are still ample lands here. The land of Untied States could still feed another 400 millions of human being while the land of China and india barely can make ends meet.

Just like animals going to the places with more foods. Human beings are no different.
