Chain collisions will only happen when there is a high density of satellites.

In shattered Satellite created thousands of debris parts all on new orbits. One destroyed satellite takes out another ten. Those create even more debris until entire earth orbit becomes chaos and evrything is destroyed intto debris. Its a cascade. You create a graveyard orbit and block acess to space for hundreds of years
