What's new

China and the US hold joint naval exercise for the first time in the Atlantic Ocean

China side: 1x type052C DDG, 1x type054A FFG, 1x Ocean supply ship
U.S side: 2x Burke DDG, 1x Ticonderoga Cruise

See more pics in Leio's military photos in China defense.
Ah, so only 3 ships from each side. Ok, I will look it up (can you provide a quick shortcut link if possible?). Thank you.

At last page ... and those 3x PLAN warships r executing global voyage mission from China => Gulf of Aden => Middel-East => Mediterranean sea => 4x Northern Europe nations => Portugal => through Atlantic Ocean => 11.03 arrived U.S California => 11.07 Sino-U.S naval exercise in the Atlantic => next station to South America

It could also be that both countries are gauging each other through exercise before taking on each other. Uncle sam is too clever but China isn't fool either :)

LOL ... maybe the two "sworn enemies" in the Pacific suddenly find common interests in the Atlantic!

I think the US and China also cooperate in the Arabian Sea and Gulf of Eden for anti-piracy activities.

Vietnam and Philippines, watch out, you could be ditched .....

Well yes given the extent of overlapping interests globally speaking. Though however remote chances might be, these two countries could still be dragged into conflict if China & US can't avoid it. And if that happens since VN is land-bordered so less of a worry on escalation, self-restraint would be a likely option on either side. Main battles would be versus US and PH in the seas, just hope that won't escalate any further into unimaginable full-scale war.
