And anyway, "use" them for what? Fighting Russia/India/Taliban? No thanks.

This might surprise you, but we're more interested in economic development.

Pakistan can help us enormously with this, via resource routes through Gwadar port and the Middle East.

And we can return the favour, by helping them with their development too.

@true friend: USA is your true friend, USA (not china) has given you many grants (not investment) to improve your social status. USA had given you F16 of which you are so proud of. I feel ashamed to see this ingratitude ... USA has poured billion of dollars (Grant) to pakistan, still you guys hate USA. while china has done nothing that sort of (instead killing uingher Muslim), still you love them...

America's contributions are also respected and prior to the 90s, Pakistanis and Afghans had great regard for America. But when they evoked the pressler amendment after the soviets left Afghanistan, an idea set in that to the Americans, Pakistanis are like toilet paper. When you need it, you treat it like there is nothing more important than it in the entire world. When your done with it, you hold it as far apart from yourself as your anatomy allows and throw it where you will never have to see it again. So most Pakistanis think that after American interests have been exhausted in Pakistan, they will just dump us like before. Though I do agree with you that people should laud them for their help to Pakistan.

The core of the creation of Pakistan is religion and China is communism. Both are in two poles.

If there is no India-Pak problem, Pakistan would have been the most US ally against China in the South Asia.

They have every right to. They are the ones who provided $198 million for $248 million joint Gwadar Port project.

Its called mutual benefit. If China gets an easy access to the Middle East through Pakistani ports then it will be of no harm to Pakistan, it will only benefit Pakistan because our ports will generate more business, and more business means better economy for Pakistan.

Countries who are investing in Pakistan and giving Pakistan business is helping Pakistan more than the carrot-on-a stick approach of the U.S. that only benefits thieves like zardari.

China is not attacking any part of Pakistan with its drones like the "ally" US is doing.

Dont flatter yourself, our relationship with China goes beyond our rivalry with india.

Even hardcore Islamist political parties like Jamaat-e-Islami are pro-China.

The truth, is that China and the USA have the biggest bilateral economic relationship in the world. They are our biggest customers.

The truth, is that China cannot challenge the USA, diplomatically or militarily. Not for at least another decade or more.

We don't need to start any proxy wars against anyone. Our best way forward, is to continue economic development.

Even we are encouraging to befriend with India since geographically we were tying in the same boat, this is not our choice, but what we were born to be.

In 1980s, Pakistan was more excited than now with US partnership for Afganistan, even US sent 7th Fleet to help them too(71) then what happened?

It is all business Interests, nothing else. I'm not saying it is all India centric.

People are taking it as life time friendship or so. Chinese are not that emotional.
