Chandanpura Mosque: A sight to behold

It looks like it has been heavily influenced by southeast Asian style of building.

Reward for prayer is on niyat, rather than building.

You are wrong on many accounts,we still are holding huge amount of Muslim refugees and we don't hesitate helping Muslim often in times of need.

Good Share man. It's in class of it's own.

In ASEAN, there is lot of thing come to influence the architecture of building especially Mosques. Indonesia and Malaysia got a lot of influence coming from colonial era Art Deco and Roman Greco design architecture and later minimalize modernize design, at early phase of Muslim era in Indonesia Malaysia Hindhu based architecture is influencing a lot architecture design, then Chinese architecture. The recent years with the increasing wealth around Muslim communities there is revival of Persia-Mughal design in younger architects and influence among newly built mosque in Indonesia and Malaysia.

Frankly a mosque is a mosque and every mosque is beautiful.
But talking about the architecture, please don't even go there. The architecture is even worse then local gali muhalla mosques..
In my elaqa in BD, we have local mosques and Eidgahs that look way more grandeur, but still retaining simplicity. This does however look like a mosque that would belong in a bazar

“In order to preserve the mosque, it is necessary to ban movement of heavy vehicles on the road or if needed shift it elsewhere. Otherwise, it will be difficult to preserve the mosque, despite all the maintenance works,” she said.
How is this not a corruption scandal? Mosques are not supposed to create discomfort for the people
According to historians, it was built in 1870 by one Master Abdul Hamid, a contractor. After its construction, the mosque used to be known as Hamidia-Taj-Masjid. Builders and architects from Lucknow and Mumbai (of India) were brought in for the work.

Later in 1947, Abu Syed Dobhash, a descendant of Hamid, took the initiative to renovate the mosque, which was completed in 1952. It had cost around Tk 4 lakh for the renovation.

So the masterplan of this mosque was written in Urdu?

Anas ibn Malik reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The Hour will not be established until people boast about their mosques.

There are many beautiful mosques in Bangladesh which I can refer, but chose not to join the arrogance.
