Islamabad, May 26, 2015 (PPI-OT): Chairman of the State Military Industrial Committee of the Republic of Belarus, Sergei P. Gurulev called on Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif here in his Office in Islamabad today.

Pakistan and Belarus have ties of goodwill which needs to be translated into ties of mutual cooperation. Both countries have a lot of potential which needs to be fully utilized. Pakistan and Belarus are very recently extending ties of trade, information exchange and defence.

Khawaja Asif during the meeting stressed that “By fostering ties of defence cooperation both Pakistan and Belarus can benefit from each other’s capabilities and technology”. He added that “We can enhance the level of cooperation and interaction among our defence forces by offering training courses at military institutions”.

Belarus is technically advanced in the field of Armored Personnel Carriers (APCs) and Industry Combat Vehicles. Their tanks, T-72 and T-80, MAZ Tanks and BELAZ Dump Trucks are technically sound and some cooperation can be sought at this end. Whereas, Khawaja Asif Minister for Defence offered infantry weapons, small arms and ammunition, artillery ammunition and other such devices to the Belarusians. He added that the quality of Night Vision Devices manufactured at the Institute of Optronics in Pakistan is state of the art quality and offered these to the Belarusian Armed Forces.

Belarusian Chairman of Military Industrial Committee Sergei P. Gurulev appreciated deeply Pakistan’s support to Belarus in many areas adding that Government’s initiative of supporting trade, technology and military cooperation with Belarus proves that. Belarus appreciates Pakistan’s stance of not extending support to EU/US country specific resolution on Human Rights Council adding that Belarus has always supported Pakistan’s candidature at UN Security Council and will continue extending help and support at diplomatic level. The meeting between both sides proved fruitful.

So, should we make a private company ? and if a company was made offering product at 10$
what is the guarantee our generals will not buy from a foreigner company at 100$ ?

We already have a private company that is licensed from Thales to maintain, rebuild and integrate French thermal imagers into our MBT fleet. Export option is also open.
