Chabahar: Without Pakistan, there is no stability or growth in landlocked Afghanistan and Af-Indo

money always wins .....

and pakistan has none of it.

just a matter of time before pakistan has to choose between the west....china...or india.

its quite ironic and sad to see pakistani posters here defend pakistan vehemently in spite of the Obvious facts that the country is dragging everyone to abyss thanks to the security state mentality with the army in power.

I see a similar thing going on with conservatives in the us..

Chahabahar was never going to be a competitor to Gwadar ! Pakistanis fail to understand it.

It's main aim is to make sure India has access to land routes to central asia independent of pak's willingness. That's all.

its not about the competition per se.....but the ability to use the port as a naval launchpad....for logistics supply

Look at its position near pakistan.......IDEAL for resupplying when performing a blockade on pakistani coast.

Money does not win always, rich India has been ravaged by rag-tag armies for thousands of years coming from West

Before your naval blockade is effective your navy in Indian Ocean will be comprehensively defeated. There is a new actor in Indian ocean, its the Chinese navy with its base in Gawadar.

. .
Indian had already proposed such a thing to connect all the sarcc countries ,Pakistan is the only opposing it.
We are not responsible for your assumtions.

It was not an assumption but an analysis backed with some harsh realities on ground. Once India lets Pakistan trade through it what little it is, the uncertainty will cease it in no time. Pakistan and India have a quagmire of KAshmir unresolved in between them.Any incident can cease whatever little progress. This highlights the importance of Kashmir in the region.Such short lived supposedly good will gestures are often seen as a tactic to project oneself to the world as a genuinely serious party and a trailblazer to end the conflict and too often the same party tunes up hostility to either get it what wants or just burn the bridge itself and blame the other party for being a "back stabber".

Nah mate...chinese ships are concentrated in the bay of bengal region..the only back up you have is from teh chinese base in djbouti which is insignificant.

Besides india can cut all oil supply into pakistan ...and china will not risk getting its oil blocked....too

THE BUDGET of the Indian navy seems to be more than the entire defence budget for pakistan armed forces...

atleast have the courage to wage it in front..always talking about how other countries will coem to help you...when you have absolutely zero to offer in return.

..nothing is free in the world.

Banyia's dream since 1947

you do realize...during the cold war you guys chose us.....then during the late 90s with china....

the dreams have always been on the pakistani side cause reality seems to be avoided. :/

India rule Indian ocean, just like china rules SCS.No major naval power can't challenge other naval power in their backyard.China will not risk of having its oil supply chocked in Indian ocean for the sake of pakistan. Its also give US another opportunity to counter naval strategy in Indian ocean against China, when they already doing in chinese backyard in SCS, let alone Indian ocean.India never done naval blockade even during kargil war..Naval blockade is always a last option...If India done in 1971, it still have the capacity to do it again...but India will not do it.

The writer is day dreaming, Forgetting that there is another silk route passing through Central Asia. Afghanistan is heart of Asia and it has no connectivity issues.

India is also working on north south corridor, through chahbahar.

Iran is more than willing to cooperate with India and Afghanistan.

Seems the shipment of wheat to Afghanistan has sent shivers through the neighbourhood and they are attempting to advocate their version of geopolitics through these articles.

The shipment of wheat is only beginning and India has long term plans to build Afghanistan with the help of regional and world powers.

Fan videos and fan fare news by media do not develop foreign policy of India. Gwadar port is of importance to China as it can by pass Malacca straight.

While Chabahar port is for easily connecting Russia and Europe to India through a corridor that passes through Central Asian countries. Similarly serves the purpose of connecting to Afghanistan. Even with Pakistan, it do not have benefits of connecting Europe via land route. Hence the importance of Chabahar.

IMO nobody construct a million dollar port just to compete with another country, it's a childish imagination.

May be only time will tell if it takes 11 days from India to Afghanistan to take the wheat who knows how many days it will take to reach russia only time can tell this and other project will take lot of years. Chahbahar is a route that is available for India right now that all you can say but expensive to the buyers. Any country can buy expensive for relationship but for how many years you can't say.

Gwadar port can benefit China also Pakistan below news is just a minor reflection of what can come in future. It's just a matter of time.
Saudi Arabia to formally join CPEC by the end of November when a high-level delegation will visit PK
