When contacted, finance minister Muzafar Said insisted the federal government had promised to including the Kohat-Jhand route in the CPEC, expanding Indus Highway and increasing funding for the CRBC.

He said the federal government had asked the provincial government to prioritise proposed projects for inclusion in the PSDP.

“We’ll have another meeting with federal authorities in few days. We’re hopeful about a positive development on the matter,” he said.

Its a bureaucratic delay, nothing else.....but.....Negative minds always breeds Neagative.

this was expected. CPEC requires that pak govt contribute some proportion of the project cost from their own pocket. Since major CPEC projects are on eastern side, it was already obvious that Planning Commission will not have enough funds to spare for the western side.

The political economy in Pakistan favours development in the east.

Later on, Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal took the podium and went on to justify some ‘reservations’ that lawmakers had with the corridor.

“Various people are saying that the $46 billion given are being distributed inefficiently,” he said.

Isnt whole of Pakistan working on bankable projects?

BTW, if I remember correctly, the federal also has to pay KPK for the energy they generated for the past few years so this kind of shows their energy projects ALSO helps federal!

Further, he stated that there has been no change in the route of the corridor, adding that it will be complete by the year 2030.

The APC was summoned to take political leadership into confidence over the route of the planned Economic Corridor between Pakistan and China. The project is being dubbed as a ‘fate changer’ not only for Pakistan, but for the entire region.

Really? How is it for the whole region when KPK (part of Pakistan itself) isnt being included?

Ever since this project has started some how people are trying to make it Kala Bagh Dam . And these acquisition are baseless and for tv talk only .Imagine during the last APC there were projects related to Western Route and Land Acqusition was the primary responsibility for Provisional Govt and only 5% land was brought

lol. Tell me what happened to the PSDP allocation this year? how much of it was spent? with CPEC projects taking shape, PC will have little room to fund these so called western projects. All these unrealistic promises which are done for political posturing are nothing more than deception.

Go and check the PSDP documents on PC's website. Check how many projects were approved years ago but have received little to no funding. The highway projects in Balochistan have been going on for more than a decade now. I have worked at PC. I know how things work. We will talk again in 2018. Will see who was living in the lala land.

1. Bankable projects are those which have quick pay backs as resultant money is from financing so it needs
2. There is already a CCI (Council for common interest) which is represented by all CM chaired by PM and in which consensus is done .Not on TV or press conference (this is all propaganda why right now we are in the middle of 2016 more than half of the time has passed for next elections.
3. PTI is responsible after 18th amendment for development related projects in the province the performance for PTI govt is over the last three years

1.Less than 25% of KP development budget utilised (2014-2015)
2.Only 45pc of annual KP development budget utilised till June: CGPA

These are some hard facts as KPK Govt failed to utilize the money which they had ! Yes folks you are hearing it right .

Now coming to the point back why these projects are not given green light . Bank Able projects are some of those projects which requires PAY BACK ,NPV and other financial studies requirement and it has to be financially feasible not for election campaigning .

1) Who is this world renowned "ecologist"
2) SOME of the trees he suggests are "equally" not local to Pakistan so how can he baselessly criticize 1 species when some of his own suggestions are equally not local?
3) Everyone agrees climate change is not a joke and is real
4) Everyone also agrees that Pakistan has lower than 10% greenery! Which in today's "ecological" stage is moving towards deadly considering the landslides and floods we are experiencing... and in such a case SOME trees would be better than NONE!

The same trees will also provide oxygen to the already polluted airs and help with making Pakistan a green beauty!

- A million trees can surely do that even if they are not locals ...it is not like we are protecting our endemic species so why fear invasive species? That fear is only genuinely of concern if we were "aiming" to preserve the endemic species which btw, FYI we are cutting down without as much as a whimper!

Constructive criticism is only lovely if you are doing something and what you are criticizing is avoiding you from doing so not just going to a news agency and complaining while not doing your job of making sure the local forest doesnt go to a 3-5% coverage...oh wait that is what our local forest coverage is!


The heatwaves you are experiencing , floods and landslides = well it is all thanks to critics like you who criticize for score earning have caused the country to literally be torn into shreds without any aim but just criticize so that xyz doesnt do good and get votes...that is your strategy hence you think everyone is doing absolutely the same thing! Yes irony is we tend to ignore the advices and then we end up having disastour .e.g same sort of ecologist have denounced ISB plantation projects in 1980s but no body listened resulted in polenization of 1/3 of Islamabad ,No climate change is not a joke but treating like a joke is a big joke .

Development project stunt was made a stunt when projects were dropped by federal...It is a very disgusting blow when same federal tries to compare achievements ...by blocking funds for projects is the classic dirty trick by a very mean/ bad/ disgusting person who has no form of improving himself but to drown the competition!
