You have summed it up well, but from a perverted point of view. The absence of Pakistanis on 'Indian' fora leads to unbridled Islamophobia, and there are many of us who cannot stand that. I am a member of every halfway-normal Indian defence forum, except for Bharat Rakshak, and do not participate in them, in spite of good friends being in their administration, because of the bleak environment; one Sanghi scratching the back of another Sanghi.

If you think about this - assuming that you think about what you write - you will soon understand that it is the absence of Muslims that desiccates the atmosphere. There is every incentive for the bigots to go haywire, and the moderates find themselves cornered. That is not the case here, although ironically,moderate Indians, either Hindu or Muslim, get cornered by green chaddis, the unthinking fringe elements from Pakistan, who are as toxic as their Indian mirror images.

As for Quora, if you are saying that there are no moderates and that they do not make a stand against the bigots, you are not telling the truth. I can say that from personal knowledge and experience.

It's not as simple as you think. Some sanghee and hindutva narrative architects deliberately enforce a revisionist "India" prism, through which South Asian history is wholly observed. To them, "greater India" (in its specific incarnation as a Hindu rashtra) is a very real and eternally existent nation that was known throughout recorded history. Mughal India, Afghan-ruled India, modern Pakistan/Bangladesh and even the IVC that predated the Aryan invasions are all offshoots (or at worst, some "age of darkness" that is aberrant) from the "eternal and Hindu or Vedic India".

It's a false appropriation of sorts.

It's not a hard logic to get. Even if 0.01% of Indians are interested in Pakistan the numbers would be overwhelming and would look like Indians having a fetish about Pakistan. It's all about scale.
