ISLAMABAD : A man in Abbottabad died after he mistakenly shot himself in the head during celebratory gunfire before a wedding ceremony.
At least 12 injured by aerial firing on New Year’s Eve in Karachi
The victim was shifted to Ayub Teaching Hospital but succumbed to his injury.
In the video, the individual can be seen clearing an apparent jam and then trying to cock his weapon, while holding it between his legs. It is then that the firearm goes off.
On New Year’s Eve, at least 12 people were injured due to aerial firing in different parts of Karachi despite directives from the police to prevent such activities. In Lahore, at least 34 people, including a woman and a child, were injured in aerial firing on the New Year’s Eve.
In 2018, at least 15 people were injured in aerial firing during a wedding ceremony in Faisalabad.
Police register case after aerial firing reported at Asad Umer’s political gathering
Officials maintained that as a result of heavy firing, 15 guests, including children, suffered bullet injuries.
