Right! It's not much to do with religion per se. It is a spring festival also known as the festival of colours and the festival of love.Have never felt that playing Holi itself with colours and water had much religious connotations. For most people it is primarily the celebration of the coming of spring.
The festival also signifies the victory of good over evil, the arrival of spring, end of winter, and for many a festive day to meet others, play and laugh, forget and forgive, and repair ruptured relationships.
