Why India do not cancel this $500 million loan? They are scaling back their naval modernization program due to fund shortage, yet pressing repeatedly Bangladesh to take this loan for many years. Isn't the signal from unwilling Bangladesh is clear?

India does not cancel the $500 unsolicited fund because it loves BD and wants BD to reciprocate by allowing this fund in our defense industry. India remains a shameless country. It should not insist on things that our military does not like.

Bro, even if India keep insisting, I don't think Hasina will insist our military. She knows very well that military can take her down overnight, doesn't matter how great she is doing. So I believe she will not interfere in military matter. And that's the only reason I have faith on Hasina ( because of her wisdom). There are many other ways to show allegiance towards India without interfering militery matters that is directly involved to our sovereignty.

They are trying to maneuver BD away from China and are selling themselves to be involved in BD's stated armed forces goals.

Basically to try to continue to neuter any sort of BD capability and thus national interest serving independent policy.

The 6 next gen frigates will come to around 2.5-3 billion US dollars in total. 500 million dollars is just a drop in the ocean of the total cost of the programme.
India does not have the technology in radars, engines or missiles to come anywhere close in matching the tech that BD is after.
Worst of all, these next gen frigates are meant to put up a fight with IN and so why would BN buy from it's adversary?!

The contract will go to China and the Indians can do nothing about this.

They have neither the money or tech and so should just keep their mouths shut.
If you look at how they are desperately trying to keep relevant in trying to compete with China in the economic field, you can see who is clearly winning. BD takes far more FDI and loans from China than it does from India.
End of the day, best to turn them down politely so as not to hurt their fragile egos.
