CDA earns PKR 3.66 bn during three-day auction

Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA), following the conclusion of its three-day, biannual auction event on Thursday, generated approximately PKR 3.66 billion through the sale of a total of 30 residential and commercial plots – according to news sources.

The department conducted the auction in its efforts to generate funds for the development of the stalled sectors in the capital city. On the final day of the event, held at the Jinnah Convention Centre, the CDA sold two plots at a combined value of PKR 148 million. The department had put up as many 46 commercial plots for sale.

Similarly, it secured PKR 690 million through the sale of 20 residential plots. The auction proceedings were supervised by a high-level committee.

Meanwhile, the civic agency has announced its decision to exclude 14 commercial plots of different categories in its efforts to maintain the planning parameters as communicated in its master plan report draft – currently awaiting the executive’s approval. The excluded properties included three plots situated in the Blue Area of the capital.

CDA earns Rs17.04b from auction

Islamabad:The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has completed three-day auction of commercial plots in Blue Area on a success note on Friday.

The civic body’s auction accepted record highest offers worth Rs17.04 billion for 12 commercial plots in phase two of Blue Area. The CDA Board, however, will accord final approval to highest bids for commercial plots received during the last three days. The auction of eight commercial plots for Rs12.79 billion was followed with auction of four another plots for Rs4.25 billion on Friday.

The CDA chairman Aamer Ali Ahmed has thanked the investor and developers for showing confidence in policies of the Government and CDA and offering record bids. He assured the successful bidders that the CDA would offer them one-window facility so that they could kick start their projects in the shortest possible time. “It will not only generate an economic activity in the federal capital but will also create new job opportunities in Islamabad,” he said.

He pointed that the amount to be earned is more than expected by the authority from auction of plots for the whole fiscal year. He also lauded efforts put in by the CDA team for successful auction of plots.
