Incredibly dishonest of you to say that Saladin was a Turk. He was a Kurd through and through - Turkified (maybe) but by blood he was a Kurd.
Saladin the Turk by the way if he was kurd he would team up with the crusaders rather than fight them. Thats how kurds are today.
Kurds never liked or loved Saladin only until today they started to claim him as their national hero.

Its normal to be honest. Hunyadi is also claimed by Hungarians, Serbs and Romainians.
Claiming historical figures is all part of the nationalist experience because it gives legitmacy to the cause.
