Cathay is going to lost monies like crazy. Such flight can only be at most 40% full on a standard A35k sitting about 140 pax.

I have a 14h flight from Frankfurt to Buenos Aires and got an Upgrade into 1st class. Im super excited about this. Guess we were lucky because we booked super early Business class and Upgrade to first was only 1200€. Its with Lufthansa. So the longer flight, the better

Using my engineering brain to verify, I realize this is fkin piece of fake news. Rerouting CX flight avoiding Russian airspace will be 14,200 km, not 16,600km, routing though Pacific. This is about 200km longer than SQ SIN-LAX, and far below SQ SIN-NYC.

CX A35K can easily operate such mission without passenger restriction.

Routing through Atlantic is 16,000++ km but there is no need to do so.

Not sure why whole world MSM parrot it like crazy,
