As I posted in my introduction, I am originally from Gujranwala. I studied in Pakistan until my A-Levels and went to UK for my Bachelors and Masters in Aerospace Engineering. Where I specialized in Composite Material (CFRP) in Aircraft Structures. I worked in Dubai for 6 years. Now looking forward to work in Pakistan industry in same field. I dont have enough knowledge of Pakistan's aviation industry at the moment.
Unfortunately, from what i have heard, there isn't much scope in Pakistan for these advance materials as far as I am aware. Can anyone guide me where I can start? I have done lots of projects in Carbon fiber light-weight materials regarding structures starting from design (including calculations), fabrication, installation and management. Any information in this field in Pakistan will really help me a lot. Some of my friends of friends are working with Army as a vendor and fabricating required parts however all of them are working in steel. I am interested in knowing is there even any chance for specialist like me in Pakistan industry which can help the industry?

Kind Regards,

Kind Regards,

Salaam I'm from Gujranwala as well but living overseas. If you can't find employment or dedicated company why not start your own and mold parts, etc., and become a supplier to Pak Armed Forces? Someone has to start these industries small scale and build up from their.

maybe in automotive, my company uses FRP for farbicating truck spoilers.

That is my main intention. However I need an introduction with Army. That is also a challenge for me. If I want to present I need some solid contacts and I am pretty sure I wont be able to get it from the friends of friends but I already am talking to them as well. My father has a very good workshop in Gujranwala with CNC machinary, if I am able to secure any composite tender I will start my own setup there with my father. But again from everyone I hear the same thing, its not easy to get in.

Thanks everyone for supporting. Yes I am very much interested to start a small scale business in this field, however I am not sure where to start (approach). I dont just want to leave my current job and then later come to know that there is no scope even in army or maybe its not even used there at the moment. If someone has any contact inside maybe they can share this info.

Kind Regards

Man your expertise are desperately needed by local small arms manufacturers as modern fire arms require "plastic" lowers this is one place where local producers suck.

Best way is to find out everyday use products that do require the resource. Cars could be a good starter. Find out the amounts needed for specialized machine to setup and where to import it from. As I am not familiar with your field at all but if you need to bounce a few ideas off me I will be more than happy to help with what I can being based in Karachi.

Let’s look at the brighter side and be positive,
It’s not impossible either. Hundreds and thousands are under the banner of Pak Military so what makes you think you can’t if you tried with dedication and sincerity and prayers (tahajjud is a magic, do give it a try).

Try to connect directly with PAC instead of trying for contacts. Contacts don’t come to much use when it comes to sourcing i guess and that too for critical components. Rather, present yourself to PAC/PAF with your work experience or some sample of products you could replicate under your firm.

Bro you need to get it contact with PAC Kamrah HR department. I have a few friends there working on project Azm amoung other projects. The newer fighters being manufactured in Kamrah make use of much more composite materials and there is research and planning going on for further improvement.

Hope you can play a part in the future projects because I have realized over time that foreign experience and knowledge is very important in the defence industry.

I'm going to go against and grain and be the pessimist here.

Don't start anything until you know there is a market for your product.
I don't think connecting directly with PAC / POF will yield any results. Any point of contact open to the general public is designed to filter out the public from the decision makers.

If you can find an insider or someone here who can help, you have a start, otherwise start by looking at commercial / industrial applications to build a business, optimize your manufacturing process and build your network.
