Canada to supply Uranium to India for next 5 years

I'm not even talking about Pakistan. If you used your brain, you'd know I'm talking from a Canadian perspective, because I'm Canadian, as in, from Canada.

There is no doubt going to be debate over this in Canada, as opposition parties have already expressed their reservations about it.
OK Mr. Canadian desi

.
Plenty can be done. This isn't a done deal, there is still much to do. The last time Canada supplied India with uranium, the Indians lied to Canada, and used it to build the bomb. All it would take is for India to screw up once.

Canada
Bad idea. Canada should not be supplying any uranium to any country that is not a signatory to the NPT (yes, that includes Pakistan).

India has got the waivers from the NSG. If Canada does not supply Australia, Niger or Russia would supply. someone is going supply India.

Then get it from Australia, Niger, or Russia. If it was Pakistan, I would be saying the same exact thing. Indian members keep saying that India has plenty of uranium, so why get it from a foreign source then?

You're welcome.

India does not have plenty of uranium for a massive nuclear power generation program

Russia is supplying fuel for this power plant
Russia delivers nuclear fuel for India's Kudankulam plant / Sputnik International

It is prudent to diversify your supplier base for economic and strategic reasons.

Sure, but I'm still against Canada giving uranium to any nation that is not a signatory to the NPT (yes, that includes Pakistan). Canada shouldn't be rewarding nations that continue to build nuclear weapons (yes, that includes Pakistan), when the rest of the world is decrease it's stockpile.

A lot of people give a damn, you saying otherwise doesn't change that fact. I know it has nothing to do with me being a Pakistan, but some people on here felt the need to mention it, so I made a clarification.

I'll move on when I'm good and ready, not when you tell me to.

 Funny that. You know that Canada is not about to give any uranium to Pakistan, so that "against giving to Pakistan also" holds absolutely no water. In any case, doesn't seem that the government of Canada is interested in that argument.

It's the principle and moral standing. You're looking the example instead of the point.

The average Canada. Opposition parties are already showing reservations about this deal, with the liberal party saying that they want a review of it.

Anyway, I'm made my point. Trust me, this won't be the last time we'll have this conversation.

But deal is already signed for 3000 metric tons uranium for next 5 years for $254 Million. Negotiations were going on since last 2 years and finally deal signed during Modi's visit.

if they are as alarmed or concerned as you are portraying, then there must be some news to back your statement.
the only concerned voices I am hearing are only coming from our western neighbor.

Welcome move.

Good news for the power generation.
