Can we prevent a third World War!!!

Dear fellow members..i m starting this thread bcoz i feel like the world is heading towards a third World War..lets analyze the causes of the previous two Wars...

First World War:
1:system of secret alliances..Germany,Austria-Hungary and Turkey,on the other hand,England,France,Russia and japan...
2:Race for strong navy b/w England and Germany,,,(for every ship build by Germany,two ships were build by england.)
3:French desire to get Alsace-Lorraine back from germany which they snatched in 1871
4:Italian desire to recover trentino.which were inhabited by italians but was still under the control of Austria
i m just highlighting the main factors that contributed towards the first WW,i know that there were numerous other factors involved,

Second World War:

1:Japanese imperialism:By 1931 japan had become so strong that she intervened in Manchuria and despit the protest of league of nations,she conquered and occupied Manchuria
2:Conflict of ideologies: The ideologies b/w dictatorship on the one hand and democracies on the other,germany,japan and italy represented one kind of ideologies and britain,france and the US represented another.
Militarism:when Hitler came into power,he decided to scrap those clauses of the treaty of Versailles which put limitation on german armaments.he called upon the Allied powers to disarm themselves in the same way as she had been disarm but the attitude of france was "Security first;disarmament afterwords",the refusal of these powers provide hitler a ground for rearmament..which later took them to 2nd WW

Current Scenario:
guys let me draw an outline,so that we see the current saga....

Re-emergannce of Russia,controversial defense shield in poland,clash of civilizations,arms race in middle east and Asia,china-taiwan issue and US,Attitude of the US and EU towards iran and other muslim states,....

so the question is that CAN WE PREVENT A THIRD WORLD WAR..and how!!!

The third world war is a very distant probability because of every major power having in possession of nuclear weapons. But yes it can happen but not in near future.

so dear u mean at that time no country will be possessing nuclear weapons..BTW the US and Russia possessed NW during 2nd WW,remember Hiroshima,Nagasakki.!!!..anyway thx for ur comments

US was possessing these weapons in WW2 and no body was aware of there destructive power except the scientists who have worked on that. Now the situation is different. Now every body is aware of the destructive power. And most of the major powers possesses them. Hence it will act as a deterrent to start a world war which could put whole humanity harping for it's survival.

Third world war is not an imminent threat. There is no showdown between major powers. USA has some tensions over missile shield, but not enough to fight a nuclear war over. Also, nukes are a big deterrent. the cost of attacking a nuclear power is too much for any country.

WW-III has already begun. A world war doesn't have to be nuclear conflicts. Tell me which part of the world is not directly or indirectly involved in the wars that are being waged secretly or overtly ?

I said his quote makes sense if you think about it. In regards to WWIV, he meant that during WWIII, mankind would have destroyed each other to the point that they need to fight WWIV with sticks and stones.

World war 3 will mean little to the people of already war torn nations.

These people would consider a World war, a way out of American bullying. American governments in the past decades have intimidated and attacked countless of people, and they have made the world a very dangerous place by laying down the foundations of a war culture.
Generally speaking people know protests dont bring results, so they resort to violence, and this attitude has secured us a lot more wars to come.
