Can Turkey renovate its empire by the end of the Treaty of Lausanne 2023…

NOPE!
Why should we annex the KRG and North Syria?

We don't need more PKK rats... rather we should catch the ones in our country, take their citizenship, kick them out and a life long entry ban to Turkey.

.
This kind of articles are written to undermine the Turkish democracy under Erdogan.

.
Why the hell would turkey want more land in iraq, syria filled with troublesome and unruly arab, kurdish population? These areas are also terror infested.Who wants to govern these territories-its a burden.
Taking territory in armenia would lead to war with russia and sanctions.
Taking territory in europe would be suicidal. Why would they want bulgar/greek populated lands anyway?
Only possibility is maybe collecting fees from bosphorus, but this would be violation of intl law and lead to major tensions with russia as russia's black sea trade shipping goes through the straits.
Article doesn't make any sense, turkey has no real gain from tearing apart the treaty - no worthwhile lands to acquire.
As if India is not terror infested either by the Naxalites. lol.

Watch your mouth here. Not all of Middle East is terro infested.

When I flew from Turkey to Sweden many years ago, it was called Turk Hava Yullari.
It does not travel to Australia though and the reason is unknown to me.

No one will help Georgia... It may become Gurchistan once again. And Adzharia is de-facto Turkish already. Saakashvili agreed to give it to Turkey to prevent independence like in Abhazia and Ossetia.

Nop. Republic of Turkey is different from Ottoman empire. It's like saying Russia does not need to give land to Japan even though USSR was supposed to do that after WW2 to conclude peace treaty.

.
Treaty of Lausanne has no Expiration date...
It seems this "Treaty" thing is the perfect scapegoat for many to put every failure on it...

Many seems to forget... with the End of the Ottoman Empire...this treaty is actually a lifesaver for Modern Turkey... This treaty "helped" put away Turkey "Territorial" conflicts behind her... otherwise... she will be another ME country... Endless fights for Meaningless Kms...

I have never implied that. But only a delusional fool would deny syria and iraq are atm.

I'm not going to read all of this but just by reading the first paragraph you will see how the author has no idea whatsoever about the situation.

1- "Turks have never forgotten the Treaty of Lausanne 11, which caused the reduction of the geography of the modern Turkish state, and forcing it to give up large territories that were belonging to it.

-That agreement was called Sevres and it looked like this:

Treaty_of_S%C3%A8vres_map_partitioning_Anatolia.png

Turkish people rejected that idea and started an independence movement under Mustafa Kemal Pasha and other generals, eventually today's Turkey was formed. After the defeat in WW1 the Ottoman army was dissolved and rebellion army were poorly equipped and consisted of militia-men rather than a regular army.

The Pashas managed to save approximately %90 of Turkish heartland.

This map here actually is the"Misaki Milli" borders drawn by Ataturk and other soldiers and they represent the National Borders:

In the beginning, the new Turkish state was supposed to loke something like this but as I said due to having no regular army we couldn't beat major European powers in flat lands so we retreated to mountainous regions and waged guerrilla war.

Several important cities and regions were obviously lost.

West Thrace: is part of Greece today and the Turkish population there is now a minority.
Batum(Georgia): Lots of Turks lived there but was eventually given to the Russians after a peace treaty. Even today you can find many people speaking Turkish but the population has diminished greatly.
Nahcıvan(Azerbaijan): Ataturk bought this place later on and is now part of Azerbaijan.
Aleppo(Syria): For many Turks, its considered to be a Turkmen city but that population has been assimilated now.
Mosul & Kirkuk(Iraq): Used to be Turkmen cities but as with every other the population is exchanged now.

2- "The modern Turkish Republic was founded according to the Treaty of Lausanne 1923 , which concluded with the victorious Allies in the First World War,"

-The Ottomans lost the war, signed the Sevres and that led to independence war afterwards Lausanne was signed.

3- "as the abolition of the caliphate, and the exile of caliph and his family outside of Turkey, and the confiscation of all his assets, and the declaration of a secular state, and to prevent Turkey from oil exploration and to consider the Bosphorus Strait which links between the Black Sea and the Marmara Sea, and then to the Mediterranean as an international corridor that it is not entitled to Turkey to obtain fees from ships passing through it ."

-So much bullshit I don't even know where to start. You see, during WW1 the caliphate made a Jihad call to protect the empire but Arabs and some other Muslim groups were busy waging their own wars against the Caliphate so it didn't make a lot of sense to keep the institution after the republic was created.

-Turkey is currently exploring and extracting its oil reserves we even have oil companies since 1930's.

3- "And by 2023 the period of the treaty ends , which has passed a hundred years, and here we understand Erdogan ‘s comments, as Turkey will enter a new era, and will begin oil exploration and drilling a new channel linking between the two seas Black and Marmara as a preparation to start collecting fees from passing ships."

- The treaty has no expiration date it's an urban myth. As said before we already have oil companies and government facilities for oil exploration. If the "Canal Istanbul" project were to be completed even this year and link the two seas we could collect any fee as we like even now, there's no agreement that says we have to wait until 2023.

4- "it has established laws for the use of Turkish water straits and traffic rules and navigation in it at time of war and peace, and stipulates the conditions of residence and trade and the judiciary in Turkey, and to review the status of the Ottoman Empire and the fate of the territories which were subordinate to it before its defeat in the First World War during 1914-1918."

-This was solved with a different agreement in 1936.

The treaty does not have an expiration date. However as Turkeys capabilities increase there will be a natural inclination towards a "rebalancing". We just have to be patient and work hard (and smart), population decline +social instability in Europe will do much better for us than any army could hope to as well as the wars and looming clash between Israel+KSAGCC and Iran will do in the ME.

It is indeed the wisest approach. Time is on Turkey's side.

Listen friends. International relations arena is somewhere chaotic, no different than wild life where the more powerful animal is always free to do whatver he wants without consequences. You can change the treaties, sign or resign IF only you have enough power over others. Respecting international law bla bla bla etc.... is just BS which is used as argument by the powerful ones... So, AFAWK this treaty has no expire date and Turkey has no power to change it YET. So no use to discuss about it.

Another five years and Insha-Allah Turkey will be in a position to nullify this unfair treaty.
