سرپا وسے مارو بھیتر، مانو وسے نگری۔

Sarpa vassay maru bheetar, manav vassay nagri.

I am told this mean: snake lives in the wild, man lives in the city.

Is this correct?

What will be the correct hindi sentence (transliteration please) that conveys the meaning above. Thanks.

.
2nd part is correct, don't know about sarpa but maaro bheetar means inside me

Seems right to me! Although I confess I studied Sanskrit for only 1 year and ended up with Nepali.

Maru in Sanskrit means desert. So it should be Snakes live in the desert, and Man in the city.
