Why is it that Pakistan can fully built a JF-17 or Al-Khalid Tank but always has to import engines from foreign countries such as China or Ukraine?

Why hasn't Pakistan invested in developing the technical know how to build and develop its own engines?

Tank engines? sure.

Turbofans? Hell no.

We don't need to and we certainly don't have the funds.

instead of wasting in development of engine, we have to concentrate on new idea's, because many countries invest billions of dollars for development of engines, of airplanes and tanks, and after that able to produce the engine.

Yes tank engine may be possible though only under license such as from ukraine, only if they are willing so

Pakistan can start with easy to make engine parts, and go on from there, step by step. In time it can produce a whole modern jet engine, it is all about metallurgy technologies and material's engineering. Egypt did it with its Helwan Jet some time ago in the 60's.

if we can make nukes then we can make anything, we just need will and dedication.

Pakistan can't produce a successful jet engine first time without external help, even a partially successful project would take another 10-15 years or more and some degree of help from countries like China.

Theia e is some talk that PAC will license produce WS-13 Jet engine like Volvo produces RM12
I have been reading between the lines that WS-13 is a joint
joint venture and a considerable number of pakistani engineers are members of the R&D team of the engine program which started at CAC chengdu in 1999.The engine
will be built in pakistan for j-17 as well as J-31.
