you are very much right but war is not only fought with psychological component. you need to have well equipped and well trained military as well in addition to friendly relations with few countries who can help you. iran hasnt got good relations with ANY of her neighbors. the only country with whom you have slightly better relations is india and mark my words they will never ever come for your help. indians are using iran for her own designs. the recent statement of putin was not very encouraging for iran as well. so if a war breaks out within 2 weeks iranian military will be crushed but US wont be able to stay in iran for long and they dont want that either. they would like to have a quick military victory and destroy the military capability of iran. so be realistic . iranian government has successfully isolated iran in the international community through their own stupidity.

You don't want allies involved, because if your allies are losing, look at what happened in WWI, Germany defeated Russia completely and could have continued the war to victory, but Bulgaria capitulated and so did the Ottomans, then the Austrians, and Germany thought to do the same. You want free countries left like after Iraq War 2, so then Iran could support Shia militias and Shia government.

Initially America will have the upper hand and it will quite probably decimate the Iranian regulars with the revolutionary guards taking the brunt.
However, when the Americans put boots on the ground then it will be a differnet game. Iran has learnt much from fighting Israel in Lebanon and Syrians rebels as well as in Iraq.
This is by no means an easy fight.
I pray that they have about 3000 half Inch snipers rifles with order to do 1 shot 1 kill and move. 3000 American dead a day. They will leave Iran in a week.

From where people got the idea that Russia and China will resist American moves in every theater out there? This is completely unrealistic expectation because US have cards to play against both, and both Russia and China risk dragging themselves into distant/lengthy/costly conflicts while doing so.

Iran does not share a border with Russia.

Iran shares the Caspian sea border with Russia. Russian/Iranian ships can easily go back and forth and trade large volumes if need be.

that said the biggest winner of a US Iran war will be Russia. Russia would love for their biggest enemies the americans to commit suicide. Russia will do everything it can to secretly make the americans pay the maximum price, but they wouldn't mind a Iran US war and wouldn't make any serious moves to prevent it.

Iran is not counting on any countries help. Iran has prepared for many decades for this, and is ready to give the americans a historic humiliation if they miscalculate.
