What will be the consequences of India letting go Kashmiris on their way? I know it would never happen..we can never forget the killings of thousands of Kashmiri Pandits and our Jawans. However, hypothetically is there anything we are going to lose ? How would be the reaction of the rest of India? Would people come on to streets? Would it have a long lasting impact on our peace and economy?

Can people of India let go of second hand imperialism and continue the British raj in the form of Indian nation. Let's revert to how it was before the
British conquest.

. . .
You would have to tear up Indian constitution for that to happen. Are you willing for that?
I have already mentioned it wouldn't happen..I just wanted to know the consequences if that happens(just hypothetical question)

Well what do you think will happen when the constitution gets torn up?

Therein lies the answer.

Nothing is going to happen economically. Territory wise its not big its at not even 10% of India land mass. Kashmir hardly contributes anything to Indian economy. Every Indian has his right over kashmir as the place where his forefathers lived and they have the right to say no. ppl would not come to streets but they would never vote for anyone who would stand for it.

Pakistan seceded from India , but does it have any effect of India? Nope

that would mean going back to the in time and reverting everything. British, US , Russia , germany will be in china and japanese will be ruling over nanking. make your choice.

I'm not suggesting that Britain should still control India. But Indian subcontinent should revert back to the time before the British arrived.

Thats a theory, the fact is India is as good as europe. Do europeans allow any invasion even though they are of different countries but one religion?

If a small minority of Islamic militants were to be successful in wrestling Kashmir, it would embolden them to carry out the same strategy in every part of the country starting with Assam, West Bengal, UP, Kerala, Telangana etc.

Silent majority would never speak under the threat of gun. It is the responsibility of the state to confront the terrorists and ensure that the silent majority regain their voice.

Well...........India need water for crops and majority of water source emerge from this region....its tough question . It would be better to convert Kashmir into type Hong Kong and Pakistan India should resolve water issue with their best honesty, because both side human live and they have need.

Certainly the people deserve to Get their Freedom to Choose (Democratic means)

  • UK allowed Scotland chance to decide their future
  • UK voted democratically to find their freedom from European Union no blood shed
  • Canada gave Qubeec chance to decide if they want free state or remain in Canada
  • UK , gave back Hong Kong to china in return for peaceful ties
  • France allowed Algeria their freedom now they enjoy reasonably decent ties many Algerians in France
  • USA after ww2 did not rule over Japan , they let the people go free and build new bridges of friendship and cooperation
  • Germany and Germans brought down the wall between their nation becasue they realized it is the will of people now (realization of the obvious)

India - Pakistan both enjoy freedom day (15th august and 14th august) so why the same fruit is denied to Kashmiri people to be able to choose their own path by vote ?

For 70 Years same struggle for Kashmiri people a democratic solution, demanding that right from a nation who claims to honor democracy

Democracy means - vote and majority rules , so why they should be slaves by action of 1 prince's vote

Indians could still visit Kashmir as tourist it is not like they live there anyways they visit like once in blue moon

Today we love UK for what they eventually did (freed the people peacefully) which is why many have homes in UK why? It is simple becasue UK knew when to let it go!!!
  • Example a lot of Indian-Pakistani-Sikh call UK their home second home

If you love someone and if they don't return the favor , it is time to let that feeling go and move on , Indian temptation with Kashmiri is vote / election driven. There is sentimental association , it never really belonged to India from day one and now we stand after 70 year still the same argument "free people of Kashmir" and move on

If UK can remain a vibrant culture and society after freeing both Pakistan and India , I am sure future will look at India in same way
