Can European, Russian or Chinese companies challenge them?

Of course platform to platform there are ways in which they can be matched. I'm suprised of how quickly the J-20 and the PAK-FA have followed on since the end of the F-22 Raptor program (at least since it first hit production).
In a recent interview, apparently the US Navy was taken aback by how sophisticated HMS Astute was during exercises of the US East Coast (apparently we're good at surpassing American expectations!), and the UAV programs of the EU nations, Russia, and China, while perhaps lagging behind in frontline numbers, will inevitably catch up and have their own niche capabilities/features.

Obviously, all military technology is useless if you don't have good training, tactics and strategy behind it.

I think Chinese and Russian firms have already taken many markets and countries love their equipments too.
