I suspect some surprises favoring BJP in TN
Kamal Hasan/ Rajnikanth/ Break out in DMK/ AIDMK Congress joining BJP

BJP will get established in WB/ Kerala i.e. the communist garh
Orrisa they will do well, BJD has been loose for long time

Karnataka will be close call (Cong dominating )
BJP will do well in central belt

Congress is too late, If they want to change leader of opposition to Shashi Tharoor or Schindia boy, there is no time to build a strong narrative around new leader. plus their media / social team is crap. With all the money and power they were not able to portray pappu in good image.

And yes, as you have said 2019 elections are almost 2 years from now, and BJP's performance graph are also doing a nosedive it seems, economy, Joblessness and above all some alleged corruptions ( especially that of Jay shah) will be hot topics of discussion with the public till then. Remember last time (2014) it was actually not the BJP who won due to their ideology, but congress who lost completely due to the rampant corruption and mismanagement.

Not anytime soon. If you could analyse in detail, BJP ate into the vote share of congress rather than the left in Kerala. A completely different scenario compared to WB where BJP is gaining on the vote share of the left rather than TMC. That's the simple reason why Amit Shah cut short his rally in Kerala within just two day's because he was very much furious on the BJP kerala committee since they couldn't bring in significant followers.
