Can CAB and Nationwide NRC be solved by West Bengal?

Let's face it, it all comes down to the parochialism of Assamese Hiindus not wanting to accomodate Bengali Hindus caught out by the Assam NRC. 540,000 out of 2 million. How about one compromise and then no compromise for the next 50 years?

This way CAB can be amended to give case by case citizenship to anybody fleeing religious persecution in greater South and South-East Asia.

We do this special dispensation ONE TIME and NO MORE for the next 50-60 years (Global Warming norwithstanding): give citizenship to ALL 2 million Bengalis caught out by the Assam NRC and resettle them in West Bengal.

Amend CAB Bill to include all religious minorities fleeing persecution from neighbouring countries. (Muslims,Shias won't choose India anyway and the only ones who may choose are Ahmadiyyas)

Even though it may appear on the surface that Ahmadiyas are being prosecuted. That is not true for most of them if not all. They are mostly very well off and have a great sense of community. Not to mention a lot of them are highly educated. Yes some did faced at times discrimination of varying degrees but believe me, we the main stream Muslims also have to go through those things too. The main stream muslims also go through attacks, bullying, and criminal activity. That includes occasional police brutality or problems with bureaucratic matters, or legal troubles by local police etc.

Ahmadyas are educated and have "pen power" to fill the web with exaggerated "prosecution" narrative. That is mostly to get "western visa" and citizenship. Most are living very happily and safely in their communities in Pakistan. As I said they are richer on average than us, the main stream Pakistanis. Unlike us, most if not all of them are at least "middle class".

They will never leave Pakistan. They are well settled in Pakistan and have surprisingly strong attachment to Pakistan. They practice native Pakistani culture and celebrate Pakistan independence and national days more than we do. India should not worry about them.

But Pakistani churas who originally came from south and central india (with population ranging from 2 to 3 milllions) and associated communities may have some sub-populations that leave for india.

These people live in their isolated communities and have less job opportunities here in Pakistan. They might reclaim their earlier Indian heritage to tap into larger job market of india. But even that is not very likely.

Regardless of their ethnic origins Pakistanis have extreme and I mean really really extreme attachment to Pakistan.

A classic example is Hazara people of Baluchistan. They faced weekly horrifying suicide attacks in the past with hundreds dying in extra ordinarily painful circumstances. Yet by all means, they love Pakistan more than I do. Literally. Meet one or message one on facebook to find out. Watch them on 14th August.

The degree of attatchement Pakistanis seem to be developing for Pakistan, would soon lead us to reach the level of Turkish nationalism which is ultimate you can get in this world.

I mean look at Pakistani tribal people (roughly 8 million people). They were bombed by US for 17 years with us doing nothing for them. Yet still average tribal loves Pakistan just like any other Pakistani.

The amount of war and violence we inflicted on each other here in Pakistan, is indescribable. yet, None of us truly will leave Pakistan for india, ever.

India should only worry about Bangladesh. For a higher paying job or for marriage, A bangali muslim is far more likely to move into india than a Pakistani. They are less hesitant moving into india and are very comfortable with indian culture. Yes, some afghans might as well. They might want to seize the opportunity for job or business.

No. They have their country that is producing milk and honey per PDF bongos. Why set a precedent of lineance? It's not like BJP will be in power for forever. Next governments will use this as an excuse to do something similar later on.

I believe we need to take a stand. Throw them back (other than people who might be persecuted) to their dump yard.

Why do we find apologists on PDF? They seem to last long on here.

Why should we care about the Muslims from Pak and Bangladesh?

Did they not choose to have their own Religous country? Now, why are they coming back to India?

Do we have to believe that Muslims are persecuted in a Muslim majority country? Even if they are persecuted it is not our business to accommodate them. We can only accommodate those minorities who are being persecuted.

We cannot go by assumptions that Muslims will not in anyway choose India. What if they choose India and migrate to India under the garb of persecution, they can easily do this if they are religiously motivated to do a hijra.

Do we have to accommodate every sins of our Islamic neighbours, all they do is one showpiece event and the whole media in our country will sing jingalala about them.

We are accepting minorities from these countries because they had no voice during the partition and were caught into it due to circumstances. The Muslims wanted a separate country and they got it. Yes, once they are citizens. They can migrate to any part of the country if they feel they are being unwelcomed in Assam.
Also, this one is an ethical dilemma. Assamese thinking of ethnic reasons for opposition to Bengalis. Does GOI have to pander to such blatant ethnicism/racism? To be honest, they are anyways been staying in the same land for past 30 years.

Indian constitution says the geographical area that is India doesn't belong to people (ethnic or otherwise). It is left upto central govt to demarcate states as it see fit. There is nothing assamese can do if GOI separate the state into two.

Assamese concerns are genuine.

Bengali Hindus should be given citizenship and the GOI should help resettle them in any other willing part of the country. WB can be a suitable place due to language.

We could have. But you know there are lot more muslims in Bangladesh than Hindus. Once we start accommodating them, we could never see the end of it. And why should we? ( we have a historical context, which you are well aware of).

This bill specifically says about religious persecution and allows for all minorities of said countries to India. Should we say Muslims are being persecuted in Muslim countries just to accommodate them? No.

Because of these lineant policies we have created such a porous border on our eastern front. It's time we correct ourselves.

The only way those Bengali Hindus have a way out is BJP winning the Assembly election in Bengal soundly..

In the worst case scenario, if a religious riot (covertly state sponsored) starts in Bangladesh yet again, there are well over 5 crore Hindu Bengali's there. What will GOI do if a vast majority of them come knocking our doors ?? Just curious about we will do then, in which state we will accommodate them ??
