TRT management selected Can Bonomo, a Turkish Jew, to represent Turkey at the popular Eurovision Song Contest this year

It was also the first time that “Shoah” had been broadcast by state television in a predominantly Muslim country. http://www.defence.pk/forums/turkey-defence/156879-trt-airs-holocaust-documentary-first-time-aired-majorty-muslim-country.html

And,the screening came only a few months after the release of a Turkish film, “Turkish passport,” which tells the true story of Turkish diplomats who saved thousands of Jews during World War II by issuing them Turkish passports.

As long as he represents Turkiye with a Turkish song it's okay. Btw he is a very good singer.

To my mind, two questions need to be answered here.
1. Is he a citizen of Turkey?
2. Is he suitably qualified and competent enough to represent his country in the field of his choice, that is, is he a good musician/singer?

If the answer to both is a 'Yes', there should not be an issue. If this is not a religious event he is going to participate in, his religion should not matter.

Ultimately it is for Turkey to decide.

Exactly, and both answers are 'yes' btw most important for me is that the song should be in Turkish language, we had others before who did in English.

yes bro! sure he is a citizen of Turkey! he is from the city "izmir"

he is a promising young musician! he labels his music as "music of Istanbul" so he is not a kind of guy like justin bieber! he is not a very well known musician by all but his music has some depth!

Yes, as the official entrant from Turkey, he should sing in Turkish. No doubt about that.
