Cambodia Kicks U.S. Military Unit Out, Accepts $157 Million From China

No wonder, so it's not really troops or military base per se. Just a humanitarian /friendly exchange mission I suppose.
Another sensationlist PDF article as I thought

For the Chinese, investing in monopoly-like situation in Pakistan is certainly beneficial.
Pakistan will benefit, unless it discovers issues, where Pakistans interest differs from that of China.
Invite Dalai Lama to visit the government, and You will quickly find out...

I don't entirely get your argument. Unilever owns a lot stuff in Pakistan. So does Nestle. Even Turks have made investments. We are a free market economy. So what if China or Chinese investors owns a lot of stuff in Pakistan? How is Huawei different from other MNCs? As long as these MNCs pay their taxes and create jobs, no one cares which penny goes where since it is largely irrelevant.
Note: The topic is Cambodia, not Pakistan.

Cambodian PM arrives home after concluding fruitful trip to China
Xinhua, May 18, 2017

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen returned home late Wednesday after successfully concluding his four-day trip to China.

"My trip to China has come to an end with highly fruitful results," Hun Sen wrote on his official Facebook page.

Kao Kim Hourn, a minister attached to the prime minister, said the prime minister's trip to China had brought a lot of advantages to Cambodia, including aid for socio-economic development.

He said through the visit, bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries in trade, investment and tourism will be further expanded.

"The prime minister's visit has greatly contributed to strengthening and expanding the diplomatic relations between the two countries," he said in a press conference at Phnom Penh International Airport.

In China, Hun Sen took part in the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation on Sunday and Monday, and then he paid an official visit in China on Tuesday and Wednesday, Kao said.

"The prime minister underlined that the Belt and Road Initiative is a long-term strategy that enhances infrastructure, trade, finance and people-to-people connectivity," he said. "The prime minister saw the initiative as a new engine of global growth."

He said the two countries had reached series of agreements, covering cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, environment, tourism, and infrastructure development.

Besides, Cambodian and Chinese companies had signed two joint-venture agreements, he said, adding that one was the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the telecom satellite launching project and the other was a MoU on the railway development in Cambodia.
